I'm a little shattered from last night (and the night before), but here goes what I got. (in a random way)someone will follow with a set list:

-Meeting and jamming with Olwiggum, Eisey and Specialist (and whoever was effect under the Krunk Unit/FREE CRACK sign). I got faces now.
-Getting to hear I Think I'm Going To Hell, and a great crowd being quiet enough for the quiet parts to be quiet (know what I mean?)
-Totally rocking out Anytime as the closer, basically kicking our asses.
-Brucee asking for the Krunk Unit/FREE CRACK sign during the encore, saying Jim wanted it, and taping the FREE CRACK side up on the crate stage right. (The night before in Knoxville, Jim asked the crowd to share their crack with the band).
-They played Into The Woods for 1st encore song. Listening to the whacked out opening lyrics, the beautiful, calliope like keys, watching the ALL MALE CHOIR w/ viking helmets and seeing that FREE CRACK sign totally underscored the absurdity of life and how you're doomed if you take yourself too seriously. Fantastic!
-Did I say they rocked ANYTIME?
-Kathleen Edwards rocks the opening bill.
-Me feeling (needing) to take my shirt off and helicoptering it over my head during Magheetah (lets just say that in 41 years, 9 months, and 22 days drawing breath on the planet I have NEVER had the urge to do that (or the neeed!)). Not one of those Red Hot Chili Pepper moments where they ask the crowd to all wave their shirts over their heads b/c it will look cool, no, the MUSIC made me do that shit. Sorry if I caught anyone in the head; it was in me, it had to come out.  ;D
-talking to the boys after the show at the "top secret hang out spot" (thanks Brian  ;)). All those guys really, really REALLY appreciate the love and support us fans show them, band and crew. Those guys are totally impressive from starting chord to last gin and tonic. I am blown away by their kindness.
-Jim rocking the omnichord during Sooner.
-Played probably 30 minutes longer than the pre. 2 nights shows.
-I got more, but I don't know where  it's filed in my head. The BEST MMJ show I have seen. The Athens 40 Watt show this summer was more intense from a crowd perspective, but the boys brought it last night and really rocked everything. Wish I could see them again...(how far is Cincinnati from nashville?  :o).

Rock and roll is alive and well folks.

ratsprayer

My first post ya'll

Got my ever lovin-bug outlast night, thanks Gentlemen from Louisville, you are fresh air to weezy lives~

- Good to meet you Specialist- we are looking up Beetle Bob now. And to my fellow Krunk brethren, keep it real and keep reaching for the stars.

You put your right foot in, you put your right foot out. You put your right foot in and you shake it all about. You do the Hokey Pokey and you turn yourself around that's what it's all about.

The show last night absolutely blew my mind.  That was my fourth time seeing those fellows, and the only thing it could possibly compare to would be the RETURN TO THUNDERDOME of 2004.  It was a wonderful experienc meeting a few guys of you guys from here last night, thank you all for being so kind (Tracy, LA, Tom(?)).  I had an incredible time rocking out with you guys.  I can't think of a time where I've had a smile on my face for an ENTIRE show...besides Bonnaroo 2004.  The band was honestly perfect.  Here are some of my hightlights:

- Talking to Tom in the line outside.  Thanks for keeping me company.
- Kathleen Edwards!  She gave a wonderful performance.
- Hearing Jim's voice beautifully soar during the ending "chorus" of Into The Woods.  And, of course, the men's choir.
- Sharing Built To Spill stalking stories with Tracy and LA, and wondering just what's in Doug Martsch's backpack.... (Again, you guys were a pleasure to meet.)
- My friend GRABBING JIM'S ASS at the end of Mahgeetah.  I don't know what compelled him to do it, but, oh, did he ever.  He said it was definitely an impulse grab, but he doesn't regret it.  He felt...pretty accomplished.  I wish I could've apologized to Jim on his behalf.  Jim went to the very edge of the stage in front of us, and when he turned around...there went the hand.  I'm pretty sure most of the audience saw it.  Haha.
- A fellow from my town (Murray, KY.  I didn't come with him, I swear!) getting up on the stage and screaming like an idiot after Run Thru.  He was removed from the venue at a rapid speed.  I have no idea what the hell he was thinking.
- The Nick Drake cover....it truly melted me.  I had to ask Tracy what it was, but when I recognized it, I just had to place a hand over my heart and close my eyes. That is definitely one of my favorite Nick Drake songs.  Beautiful.
- Jim during the final moments of Mahgeetah, putting his hand over his face like a small, humbled kitten (right before my friend grabbed his ass...).
- Informing LA of the infamous Beatle Bob.  (I forgot to tell you that the beatle is ea instead of ee.  You'll definitly have more luck spelling it that way, should you decide to search some more.  :))   Just check these out.

Oh, it's fine.  That was my third post in over a year and a half.  I couldn't even remember my own username, I had to search the backpages to find it.

Well, here goes my take on it:
(I may have a little more to add once someone posts the setlist. I know Eisey was jotting it down and Brian recorded the show, but didn't expect it to sound great because he had to tape from where we were in the crunk unit)

-Pre-show hangout at 2doorsdown was great. It was very nice chatting with Brian, Tracy, and their ladies. Very pleasant company. We need to do that again next time.

-Kathleen Edwards was good, but nothing jumped out and grabbed me about her set. I probably would have enjoyed her set more if I wasn't so pumped about seeing MMJ again.

-"Wordless Chorus" as an opener was absolutely amazing. Jim was singing without a guitar for the whole song. It was completely dark until the chorus, then the lights were phenomenal, then out again during the next verse. Brilliant.  It's also amazing that Patrick does the double-bass part at the end John Bonham-style, with one foot. Killer.

-I think "One big Holiday" was 4th. Bo was already up and rocking at that point. Totally grooving to that song.

-The omnichord on "Sooner" was a very nice touch. Patrick also was a wizard with the percussion on that song. Seems like he used a couple of different shakers, one of those things that you run the drumstick down the side of (give it that rolling-clicking sound) and the regular sticks at the end of the song. Great work on that one.

-Carl and Patrick gave "I think I'm going to hell" a good old fashioned ass-whuppin'. I don't think I've ever seen Carl play so hard and intense. I just kept throwing my fists in the air and smiling. I couldn't stop. Then I yelled "DEVILS AND DEMONS ARE COMING!" at the top of my lungs. Watching Tracy act as conductor during the stop where JJ sings "to take. me. to hell" was wonderful as well.

-The men's choir at the end of "Into the Woods" was neat. Bobby Bare Jr was up there with them as well as a couple of dudes from Kathleen's band, if I'm not mistaken. The acapella "aaaahs" at the end were a nice touch and you could tell that Bo seemed amused by it as well.

-"Anytime" makes for a great closer, as odd as it seems. The band was so intense by that point. Amazing.

-It was great being part of the Krunk Unit and "free crack" crew. It was also great that Jim acknowledged the sign when he had the mic on the front of the stage at one point. (Way to go Eisey!)

-It was nice meeting Antoniostrohs, Eisey, and Specialist as well. Got to shake hands with Darkglow again before the show too. Tony, you'll have to kick it with us next time!

I know I have more to add, but it's slipping my mind right now. More later...

sweatboard

I have to say my last show of the tour sent me out with a bang and a smile.  I had a great time from start to finish.

Highlights

-The genius of the FREE CRACK sign.  LA made a KCrunk Ass Sign, I was afraid the venue wouldn't share our sense of humor, but Tracy said it best.
-Mine and Tom's sing along to Anytime.
-Going into a dance frenzy during Mahgeetah and looking back and seeing the guys behind me going absolutly ballistic it was like they had formed thier own little band back there all jamming out on their air instruments.
-Jim's smile the first time he saw me hold up the Free Crack sign.
-Tom getting his picture taken several times with Crack sign by a bunch of girls.
-Holding up the Free Crack sign on our walk to the venue and cars screeching to a halt.  (Ok that didn't really happen)
-Me, Tom, Corey, Tracy, LA and my wife kickin it after the show.
-Grimys, the coolest inependent music store I've ever been to.  The whole staff are such nice people.  I'm glad Grimy put a place like that into the world.
-An amazing setlist............"INTO THE WOODS"  I was afraid they wouldn't play at any of my shows but they delivered, with a viking choir.
-Anytime was rocked with authority last night and had us all doing the pogo dance.
-Bo standing for several songs.
-Kathleen Edwards was fantastic I had no idea she could rock out like that her band is fantastic and her voice is so soothing.
-Patrick rocking the Zorro mask yet again.
-Just looking around and seeing so many people having the times of thier lives and really into the music.  Loud sing alongs even to the new songs.  It was a magical night, I couldn't have wished for anything more.

There's Still Time.........

tomEisenbraun

ok, here's my best moments from the show.

*Jim dancing around like some amazing soul singer for Wordless Chorus. He started off in the dark with his back turned holding this awesome "ready" pose, and when the music hit, oh man. It was amazing.

*The dudes frickin tearin it up on It Beats4U. Tommy is a wonderful man. You should've seen his blood blisters afterward. The whole tips of his first two fingers on his right hand. He is one bad-ass bassist and a seriously awesome dude. Tore it up again later in the middle of Run Thru, got down almost on his knees in front of the middle monitor. I screamed my heart out for him. Good lord.

*Sooner with the OmniChord. : ) They tricked us too, I coulda sworn he strummed out the beginning chords of How Could I Know and I was about to lose it. And then it turned out to be Sooner. Hahaha, I LOVE that song and it's hilarious that that could have actually been thought of as a "letdown". Haha. Jim frickin rips on the OmniChord.

*What a Wonderful Man. They've started doing this thing live where instead of busting straight into the dueling guitars bit after the first verse and chorus, Patrick just beats out this awesome drum break and then it begins. Cool thing is, Jim got himself a 12-string Strat so that they can get a three part guitar harmony going, since he's got the octaves going with that. Oh man. I'd never know for shooooore...

*Off the Record which probably lasted 9 minutes. These guys can keep such a darn groove.

*Dondante was completely and utterly beautiful. Oh wow. It's such an intensely sad and emotional song. I just closed my eyes and and screamed along with "Youuuuu haaaaad meeeee worrrrieeeed" and it ripped me in half. And then the solo after that and the sax. So amazingly beautiful and painful.

*Into the Woods with the men's choir around Carl's mic with the viking hats on. And our "FREE CRACK" sign taped to Jim's omnichord stand/road case. Somebody yoinked the sign from us before it made it's way up there and wrote in "Your music is" above the FREE CRACK bit. I'd agree.

*I Think I'm Going to Hell. 'nuff said. Oh man. Followed by the Nick Drake cover song which was also beautiful.

*And Mahgeeta and Anytime are just a frickin one-two punch closer. Coolest thing ever. Jim and Tommy walked up toward toward the drum riser at the beginning of Anytime during the keys bit, and when the guitar part happened, Jim had his foot up on the drum riser, and then jumped off it when the guitars came in. That song has so much energy. Well, I guess the whole show did. And then, at the "Madonna" bit in Anytime, me and Brian turned to eachother and sang along with some true vigor. Oh man. "boy you gotta learn to express....yourself!!!"

*One of the sweetest parts of the show was when I was holding up Tracy (ycartrob)'s wife's FREE CRACK sign up, and Jim acknowledged it on the mic while he was talking to the audience. I talked to him afterwards and mentioned it and he said "Well...where is it?"

*Meeting the guys. They're all amazing people. Tommy is a completely awesome man.

Plus, I got to meet up with Trey (Specialist) beforehand. And then found Corey (olwiggum), Brian (Sweatboard) and his wife and Tracy (ycartrob) and his wife who are awesome people. Met Antonio Strohs after the gig too. What is it about the Jacket (or maybe just this message board) that generates some seriously cool people? My friend from church came too and brought his sister and a couple of his band members and they all seriously dug it. I think his sister may now be a Jacket fan. I think 1 show is probably all it takes. And this was 1 show to be at.

...just...wow.
