Front row at the Palace, AMAZING!!!  Great show!  My head is still reeling.  Knowing how much it meant to Jim to be on that stage made it for me.  At the end of the show the band smashed some toy instruments on stage, hiliarious!  To me it was a way of saying, "We're here, we're rock stars, and we still have a sense of humor."
The aftershow was alright but not the greatest.  It seemed like Craig was spinning the whole time instead of DJ Cap'n Goodies, but it was fun hangin with the boyz again.  I got to meet a lot of people from the forum at the show and everyone was very nice indeed.  Happy Turkey Day!  The best to you and yours.

Holy shit. I can't say much else about it, but I hope someone caught the stream of it, or better yet, the FM version. I didn't attempt to listen on dial-up, but it's awesome to see it on the list.

Yeah, fantastic show, but WTF with the clapping and hooting during Dondante?! Can't people just STFU for 5 minutes? Really killed the tension of the song for me.

Awesome show.  Our seats were in the rafters, but we met some nice guys who had open seats on the first floor about 15 rows back.  Much better.  
Great setlist.  I was hoping for a Nashville to KY, but alas.
My first MMJ show in Louisville, my first Palace show.  I always catch them at Bogart's in Cincy, but from now on, I'm going to have to make the trek.  The Palace is amazing!

I have a couple video clips of "Wordless Chorus" and "I Think I'm Going To Hell".  When I figure out a way to share them I'll do so.  Deanna can you message me and tell me how to do it?  The show was great, I can't wait for you all to see the clips, Wordless started in total darkness except for a bouncing blue light.  The band was bathed in red light for a stirring rendition of Hell.  "I Will Sing You Songs" was flat out breathtaking.  I've had a great time seeing the band on this tour.  I've met a bunch of great people and had many good times.  Now it's time to start saving money for the next go around. ;D

I posted this on the I Will Be There When You Die thread but thought it belonged here as well.I really can't say enough,but the words seem so inadequate ......really.

I grew up in L-ville with a music loving dad that gave me the gift of live shows from an early age because I had the yearning even then.I was weaned on live Jerry Lee Lewis in his prime before I'd opened a text book and I still remember seeing the faces and hearing the voices of many of the greats of my generation. I saw Dylan bring a crowd of 8000 to it's knees and meanwhile at another time and place Ralph Stanley open his mouth and give the gift of his lyrics and haunting vocals to my life forever.Last night in L-ville at the age of 40 I witnessed the most magical and evident sign of "whatever God there is" sharing the stage with a young man wiser and more talented than his years.Jim James,a guitar,a stool,the darkness surrounding him,the light coming forth from him,and the suddenly silent stunned masses in front of him.I Will Be There When You Die,was all that and more.The hair on my arms is STILL standing up.How do you begin to thank someone for a gift and memory like that.

Man what a great show!!!. It was also great to see EC,Sweatboard,JohnConaway and Tundra at the show. We feel bad we couldn't make it  to BBC in time to meet some of the others on this forum or to the afterparty because of the Thanksgiving commitments for the following morning. It was so cool  to find out we had seats in the pit right next to Tundra and and a couple of seats over from my buddy Randy.  I swear that it's no joke but all the people I've met from this forum are some of the coolest and nicest people I ever met!  The only downer was there was almost a fight down in the pit. Don't know exactly what was going on but I saw someone swing at the back of someone head and then security escorted one guy out. Then the guy that got hit started talking to someone else and they exchanged words and then county sheriffs came and escorted a man and I guess his girlfriend out. Other then that episode which was distracting it was still a  wild and magical evening. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving Day and are still celebrating the rest of the weekend. Tonight my wife and I are going to catch the queen of our forum ,Megan Hamilton play at the Rud here in town. So all you Louisvillians please come out and show your love for one the sweetest and talented  and also very lovely Canadain singer songwriter. We Love ya Meg ;D

The show was absolutely incredible, I wouldn't have missed it for the world.  Listening to the show now, it sounds like Jim's voice was really tired in some of the songs, like he had to strain to hit those golden notes.  Something about that makes me love it even more.  At the times when there is usually a solid vocal note, there is a crackle and a scream, and it sounds beautiful.  Anyone else loving this as much as me?

Also, when "I Will Sing You Songs" came around, it had to be the most breathtaking performance of the song that I've ever heard from the band.  They nailed it perfectly.   And, of course, there are absolutely no words for "I Will Be There When You Die."  I still have chills.

folded fawn, I hear ya on the not hitting the notes thing, sometimes that rawness is so real it makes the songs a bit more tangible....man I LOVE this band!
