I wrote extensively last night about the 1/23/02 solo Jim James show.   So right about this time four years ago he was about to take the stage.   And this is still the only show I've ever seen that a tent was set up on stage!    One of the earlier performers  (and I think he also booked Jim for this show) set up a tent on the tiny stage.   I think that Jim just sat in a chair instead of being on the stage - of that, I'm fairly certain.    This guy's name was Drekka.
Anyway, the next night I drove down to the Exit/In to see what I believed was to be another Jim solo show, but it ended up being MMJ.   And they wore suits!   I wish I had taken pictures.   Judging from the lack of response to this solo Jim show, I'm guessing that it's harder to put these babies up on archive.org than I originally figured!   2,134 members on the forum and nobody wants it?   Maybe it's already out there; I did spread it around on the yahoogroups  list.
I have burned a copy of this solo Jim show and it's ready to be mailed to someone, anyone (!), who will put it up somewhere on a server.   I am also offering up the 1/24/02 Nashville show.   Here is the setlist:  The Dark/Lowdown/
Just Because I Do/Picture of You/War Begun/The Way that
He Sings/One Big Holiday/Phone Went West/Lil Billy.
I was thinking earlier tonight that these are the same songs, basically, that they played at the 10/25/01 show (a date which shall live in infamy).   Only JBID wasn't played in Austin on that fateful night!   Send me an address, tell me you will put it up on the archive.org and it's USPS bound tomorrow!    Long Live MMJ!!!!!!

Well, it's really only a date which shall live in infamy to me - it was the first time I ever saw MMJ live.  They blew me away, of course.   So I planned vacations around seeing them, proclaimed them in my top ten all-time bands right after that show and of course they've only grown in stature in my red-eyed mind with every passing month!   So basically, it's just a freakish way of saying that MMJ changed my life, stolen, as the war begun, (obviously) from FDR about December 7, 1941.

I have a show I taped from 11/18/05 here in Austin, TX if anyone is interested in trading for it.  It was my first time seeing them, as I have come into bad luck everytime they come to town.  This time I had bronchitis, strep throat and mono at the same time.  I went anyways and they rocked me.
