i talked to a friend that went to see m. ward play in brooklyn last night and he said jim james showed up for a few songs in the middle of the set, then again for the encore. was anyone there? i almost went, but unfortunately, couldn't make it. say it ain't so.

Dan the Man

yes indeed, jim was there... he sang and played guitar on 4 songs... it was sweet... m.ward had a great crowd and they went nuts when Jim came out...  m. played a few of the songs on the venue's house piano instead of guitar... after the real encore, the crowd continued to cheer and cheer... and m. ended up coming out to do one more song...

i snagged a setlist from the stage... here it is... (the stars * indicate songs with Jim James on acoustic guitar and vocals)...

You should just go anyways.  I was only recently introduced to Mr. Bird's music (after being RIDICULED and STONED for not knowing about it ;)), but I would kick myself for not going, Jim or no Jim.  Andrew Bird is lovely.  Where is he playing?

Coltrane

YES! go see the Bird! He usually plays by himself with all this looping equipment and so on....the man is amazing!
....as mayor of Drugachusettes, I declare this pizza to be...AWESOME!!!

ChiefOKONO

YES! thanks for the report .. this is great news indeed!!! :)

i live in Lexington, KY which is about an hour and a half from Louisville, KY, where Andrew Bird is playing tonight...but he is playing here in Lexington on Tuesday...so I am going to that show...and yes Andrew Bird is awesome!
