I have been Baptised........................................... ;D

I have travelled the world somewhat, seen Neil"god"young about 5/6 times, the who, Zep, Purple, but that 45 minute's of pure bliss was magic to behold... Wonderful idea to play Dondante while the "Jam" heads where still piling in.  I could see people, on the way to thier seats, stopping in mid flow, "having' to take an instant look at the stage to see who was making that wonderful sound.  Jim was in high kicking/funky mood, especially playing Off the Record, and at the last song (Run Thru) they where so god damn tight, you knew they had just got warmed up.  I can not WAIT to see these guy's do a WHOLE set!!!!.  Did anybody else who was there notice something special (besides the obvious that is), the very last note's of Run Thru, when, and i swear this is the first time i have ever heard this, Jim made a "Bell" sound out of the note's?????.  I have been baptised!! :D

So they didn't open with it, but I did say theywould play O The One That Is Real! I love that song. The tour where they were playing that and cobra was the greatest Whoooo!

Oh man, yes they did and it was so so good! (I was calliing for this at NWU but didn't get it so I was elated to hear it last night!).

I swear I agree with blenderbay, I felt totally baptized. I felt such a swell of love for these guys when they took the stage. The set was searing, Jim sounded like an angel! I stood alone and danced my ass off and sang along --I snuck up closer for the Jacket set and most of the seats were empty. I am hear to tell you that they came dangeroulsy close to stealing the show. Patrick was on FIRE!

I went back to my seat a happy camper! My bro-in-law and sister saw them for the first time last night, and their impression was that this band was something to behold. Run Thru was their favorite, they were a bit speechless. My sister said Jim's voice gave her chills and they are both looking forward to seeing a Jacket show again!

I also heard the opening sounds on Run Thru sounded like a high pitch something or other. Also I thought Jim's dancing moves were a sight to see, I loved the little jiggy thing he was doing with his leg.

Pearl Jam was awesome too! I can't believe how good they are! It seems that they are in their Prime. Eddie never sounded better and Mike McCready's playing was nothing short of astounding. Highlights were Garden, Glorified G, 1/2 full, Worldwide Suicide, Once, gone, Footsteps and Do the Evolution...I'm sure I'm missing some but damn, they are impressive.

What a freakin GREAT show!

~~ OH did anyone see the AMAZING rainbow as you were walking into the venue?? It was like all was right with the world. The rainbow went right over the skyline, it was breathtaking!

But seein you feels good, and its always understood.
That anything much sweeter would make me die.

elwood77

agreed!
MMJ were smokin! good choice of tunes to pull in the PJ fans! I had my minidisc rolling, but it seems to have F'ed up and lost the recording.  :'(  I'm gonna try to read it with another deck, but have low hopes.

I've seen PJ about 8 times. that had to be the best setlist I've ever seen from them. don't forget the rare "man of the hour", the holy trilogy in reverse "footsteps">"once">"alive"... and "CROWN OF THORNS"!!!! can't wait for it to show up on the official bootleg site.

BTW, chicago traffic sucks! but it was worth bearing for the chance to see such great performances!
