Extra Ryman ticket? (or other solutions?)

"So!"  I had this wild idea tonight - I was thinking about this fact while I was in the shower about 45 minutes ago:   I was thinking about the Dallas shows on 11/16 and 11/17, which I already have tickets for, and that I am off the previous week from Nov 8-10.   And then I realized, "Hey!"   (I realized that the "So!" and the "Hey!" are reversed, but they are obvious nods to my favorite song on At Dawn, 'Xmas Curtain'!   Yesterday, and on several days as I leave work for either lunch or for the day, I go outside and I yell either "Hey!"
or "So!" and then I finish up with either 'the Christmas curtain falls on lawbreakers...." or "to all you frowns go down to town square and get some action...." - it's undeniably my favorite song to *sing* - at least right now.  Hell, they ALL fun to sing, right!?
Anyway, I got this idea about taking off the first part of the week of Nov 13-17 - since I am already off Nov 8-19 and Nov 16 and 17, if I take off Nov 13-15 then I get about 12 days in a row.   And when it comes to certain things, like days off in a row, 12 is always better than six!   I won't even get into the Hendrix theme If 6 was 9 because as my old friend Alan "Yak" Yeakley said, "if your aunt were a man she'd be your uncle!"
So I got outta the show and I logged on.    Hell, I didn't even know *where* they were playing.   I just knew that they *were* playing because I wasn't going to be able to see 'em in Hot'lanta or Knoxville.   Sudden thought:  did you know that Jim sang "From Knoxville to Kentucky" in Knoxville on May 1, 2002?   He claimed that he'd just written this song backstage and that he wanted to play it.   He was barefoot, of course.  And the song was eerily similar from their smash hit From Nashville to Kentucky!   My friend Matt "Mott the Jacket" is going to both of those.  He lives in Atlanta and I saw MMJ there with him in both places last October.  The funniest thing about that trip was that I camped out on the way to GA.
I stayed at a state park right outside of Auburn, Alabama.  My daughter turned 24 on that day (I was still 43 at that point), so I just had to call her from the road with Neil Young's 'Harvest' blaring in the background in the car.  And when it came to that part in Old Man, I held up the cell phone and she heard "24 and there's so much more" on her 24th
b'day.   Digressing badly.......
Anyway, I camped out that night and got rained on.
BADLY!  Soaked!   The tent was in standing water and it was quite a sight to see my tent hanging off the patio of Matt's apartment in Atlanta.   I just kept thinking about that Larry David explanation.  Larry noticed that his colleague's son's penis was extraordinarily large for a boy of his age (six or seven, probably).   He chose to mention it to his colleague anyway.  The colleague wasn't very understanding, to say the least!   I knew that it was probably going to rain.
Motels are the best way for middle-aged wimps like me to travel during hardcore deluges!    Larry and I both did the same thing.    "I took a chance....it didn't work out!"
Damn, I must be high...to quote another great band: Wilco.  Anyway, I'm not but the brews are flowing, nuff sed.  What I am getting at is that 1)  I checked the website 2) found that they're playing Nashville on Monday, 11/13.  Went to the website, pre-sale closed!  3) Bummer   4) Decided to beg to the forum to see if anyone's sitting on one extra ticket.
5) If not, when are the regular tickets going on sale?   6) Can anyone near or in Nashville get me one or explain what and when and how and where and why?
I got ahead of myself here, a bit.   This message may not be posted now because I know it's waaay too long.
I *am* Jim's dad, and I know that if hounded that he would probably try to get me a ticket  ;D     But there are undoubtedly many of his friends coming down From Kentucky to Nashville, and I don't dare beg my son for a ticket.   So...let me know if you are sitting on an extra..or if you can get me one to the Ryman.
I would be going to Knoxville and Atlanta but I already have plans to be in Las Vegas/Los Angeles/Joshua Tree.   My old friend Jimmy "Jimbo Elrod" Faires and I are meeting up in LV on Nov 8.  He's going to be there on business earlier that week and he's taking more time.  From there our tentaive musical dreams are to head to L. A. for Tim Buckley, Doors, and Beach Boys sites.   He's found the house, he thinks, that Tim Buckley died in.   We have already found the house where Tim overdosed, and we've hit several Doors locations like the studio that they recorded several albums in (one is now a Mexican food restaurant)
and the motel that he lived in for awhile.  There's also a place called Barney's Beanery that The Doors hung out in; we had breakfast there in March of Ott' 4 - and apparently there's a historical landmark where 3/5 of the Beach Boys grew up in Hawthorne.   We're huge Gram fans and that's where Joshua Tree comes in.  We've booked a room at the Joshua Tree Inn where Gram died.    So I will be getting back to Dallas on Saturday, 11/11.   I figured I can drive up to Nashville on Sunday *IF* I can get into the Ryman on 11/13.
Damn, that'll be a stupendous event.  I've seen them in Nashville four times now, and it just keeps getting better
1) 1/24/02 Exit/In 2) 4/23/03 Exit/In 3) 6/20/04 Exit/In (COBRA!) and 4) City Hall 10/8/05  (coincidentally the only MMJ show I never taped, did any tapes ever emerge from that night!?   They did Into the Woods!!!)      Jim told me after the 10/7/05 Knoxville show that he'd seen Neil Young and friends perform that concert film in the Ryman (I wasn't sure what he was talking about, but later it was released as a performance of Prairie Wind on the Heart of Gold DVD).    And now I can't watch it without thinking "Jim was there!" and just the fact that they are playing The Ryman Auditorium is proof that hard work and persistence, not to mention True Talent and Genius does pay off!    Long live MMJ!   If I can't get a ticket, I may just drive up there anyway and try to buy from a scalper!     Have fun, kids..if this message won't post I will cut it down some and try again!

Thank you, T.   I love naps; if/when I am ever able to retire, naps will be some of my greatest moments in life.
Meanwhile, as a working man, I can't nap as rule.   I want one, I need one, but naps are only good for me about 2-4 PM.   Naps at 11 PM are kinda ridiculous unless I'm working a crazy shift like 4 AM to noone, which never happens.  Thanks for listening and for the ticket advice, though  :D

Dude, you should camp in Joshua Tree.  It has great camping facilities and it's pretty sweet out there.
