1.  People were getting ripped on for negative comments regarding the performance.  I was just sticking up for them.  They were being told how much they were supposed to enjoy the performance.
2.  "Fuck all you non-believers" and "Rot in hell ass clowns" were in your post and you're calling me self righteous?
3.  Just because people have lower post counts on here it doesn't make them any less of a fan and allow them to be treated with disrespect.
Okay, so it fires you up and pisses you off that people posted negative remarks about the performance.  Well it pisses me off that those people got ripped for just stating their opinion.

yeah yeah!!     preach in marino.

cheers.

All I have to say is Jim looks hot in those boots! :o
I'm drinkin'  cold, cold lightning with the bugs in my hair....

Quotedon't believe everything you read...

No point in trying to explain, you know? Some "get it", others are totally lost.

thought the performance was great...I personally like the song but to each his own....

Chico

WAWM is by far my favorite song on Z.

I almost peed myself when I heard the first licks.

But c'mon.  That sound was horrible.  Band looked tight, but something was horribly wrong in the mixing or some other such technidoodle-sumthin'-or-another.

Muffled indeed.  Somebody screwed the pooch and denied the Jacket some new converts.  Jim, I have no experience, but hire me and I will make sure that never happens again.

looks like a pretty good quality video of the performance just popped up on DIME:

Anytime MMJ is on TV it's good, but the weird sound inhibited a performance that was probably way better than it sounded.

Also, they also way play TV friendly songs on the late night shows. How awesome would a reverb drenched "I needed it most?"

Quote The little Jam section ruled though....Jim let the feedback roll for a nice long time and then just basically got the fuck down.

THAT was totally hot.......how Jim hung on that feedback all hunched over.......took one step and hung again........and then rocked out! Fuckin' awesome. Sound was muffled yeah, but performance was great. It's on You Tube now.....

Wow... I don't quite understand why people are bashing their performance and even worse the choice of song. I thought it was wonderful. I couldn't stop smiling and head banging.  :D

Chico

I'm not bashing the performance at all.  Just bashing some things between the gutairs/drums/Jim and my stereo at home.  Something got screwed up somewhere along the way.  And that is a real bummer.

Whoa... I didn't point out any specific person...
I was just saying the band could have come on stage with all of their instruments turned off and I would have loved it.  There was some obvious technical difficulties, but it happens. I was simply sharing how much joy I received from seeing the guys on one of my favorite shows of all time.

Yeah, I'm spoiled because I've been able to see them play that song so many times live, I was just happy to see the skeleton boots in action.  He used to play barefoot and now he has skeleton boots..........that is exciting to me.
There's Still Time.........

Honestly, seeing my favourite band on national television is enough to make me happy.

this thread never really got going.  :-/

Yeah.  Me too.  All that stuff...  I just worry about the folks seeing Jacket for the first time, that don't recognize that the less than awesome parts were indeed technical difficulties...

RedPatokaSea

What song was it that he was prancing around with those boots like a chicken or something in DC?  That would have been hilarious to see on TV.

Somehow one of my friends I was with at the DC show got one of Hallahan's drumsticks.  I think he has been worshiping it.  We're talking about building an altar to place it on.  Maybe burn some incense, thank the Gods for the blessing that is this band's existence!

Ahh, gotcha.

RedPatokaSea

Haha!!  I changed my username ... now nobody will remember that I was the one who said the Conan performance was kinda lame.  Damnit, did I just ruin it for myself?

Honestly though, there were some kind of technical difficulties. Something wasn't right.  The reverb definitely wasn't how it was supposed to be.  As for the song, not my favorite, but I would still have loved it if things had gone smoothly.
