i am waiting for the day Jim James has back up singers, like the supremes or someshit like that.  

Lots of their songs scream SOUL, and with some more voices with it, there could be a sound that could be untouchable.  

EX:
Lowdown - i love the album version because there is backing voices...something they dont do live.

Phone Went West - would have and even more lovely reagee feel to it if they had the wailers back up his vocals.

The Way That He Sings - Listen, and you can hear the backing vocals...mmm

Bermuda Highway - would be lovely with some japanees humming. dont ya think...

I mean the list could go on.  They Ran, Sooner, Where To Begin etc...

What???  explain what japanees humming is.  Phone Went West, more reggae (or excuse me, reagee)? The way that he sings could not get any better.  I told myself not to touch this thread, but you've got to be kidding me!

(when I hear someone talk about someone else's guitar playing being "sloppy" I have to take a deep breath and say it's OK. That's a pretty big insult IMO. And the cheesy parts? Why you want to come to a bands forum site and talk about their sloppy guitar play and cheesy parts baffles me)

Okay, enough. I just don't like the Okonokos version as much as the Z version. Gideon, to me, needs to be tighter, because that's the way it sounds like it was meant to be. Unlike Wonderful Man, which needs to, in my opinion, be extended at least 2 more minutes. Just the 2 cents that my opinion is worth...

i'm in the vast minority around here in regards to this thought, but it's ok to not like everything this band has done or will ever do.

my choice is don dante.  it needs to be longer.  much much much longer.  hell, just make it the entire show.

Oh, I totally I agree. I am not totally down with everything the band has recorded. There's some stuff that I skip over.

Am I going to come here and point it out and pine for less sloppy musicianship and suggest how they need to do it "better" when it has absolutely no bearing on anything other than me whining? Absofuckinglootely not.
