bridget, i think you pegged it.  there will always be the "play the hits"/rude drunks crowd, but i think the "sharing the euphoria" contingent is mighty strong at the mmj shows b/c of the vibe they project.

under the sea prom, costumes encouraged?  speaks for itself.

i would like to state publicly that i am dying for some details on last night's asheville show.  if we don't hear something soon, i'm going to encourage you all to make something up and post it in the other thread.   ;)

Hey, where did you eat in Athens?  I haven't stopped thinking about the Fried Chicken and Maccaronni and Cheese at Weaver D's.  I found a copy of R.E.M's UP at an awesome Vinyl store.  It's one of my favorite albums ever and I love that I found it in Athens.

QuoteI just posted some photos on my blog from the show - I have many, many more, but just a sampling for now - it's tough shooting with a tiny digital with no flash, but I think I got some good photos ... and one of me and Jimmy, alright!

Enjoy!

Steely!!! Can I be your new best friend?

That picture of you and Jim ........ makes me want to sing a wordless chorus to your coolness and hotness all rolled up in one.

OMFG, your daughter is even prettier than your beautiful spouse. And you can tell those two goddesses that the Reverend said so.

We ate at Clocked the first night and drank at Flicker next door both nights. On wednesday we actually packed on some PFchangs before heading down to Athens.
We never got to schoolkids records to look at the records, I'm bummed.

Dancing In The Moonlight. I know that tune, but can't remember who did that originally. Anyone?

Thanks to the tapers by the way.

DaFunkyPrecedent

so what i hear...is fucking amazing.  you mean to tell me that they did both versions of "Oh What A Night"

Night 1 - The Dells
Night 2 - Frankie Vallins and the 4 Seasons.

MMJ had it all planned in their elvis heads.  Night 1 more relaxed, night 2 nothing but dancing.  Dont YOU PEOPLE GET IT! they are the best!

MMJ is the be all, all ending music of this world that will carry your temid souls on the backs of geese that fly south for the winter to soak up some sun.
God damn those shaky knees.

Went to the Grill (i think that's what it's called) and ate by myself at the counter. Lots of very hungry and very drunk people and very cute servers of both genders.
