Andrew Bird and M. Ward are gonna be there...why not add their buddies My Morning Jacket.

peep the line up.  They still may get added.  Maybe along with their giant TOUR.  It's a 3 day event and not that many artists.

But still looks AMAZING!  plus it's in Golden Gate Park - the mother ship of everything beautiful in the great city of San Francisco.

A friend of mine wants me to go to this with her but after RCMH and Lollapalooza, I just can't see it happening.

Hell that's a great line up with or without MMJ...I'm sure someone will take this personally but MMJ doesn't really make or break a festival in my opinion.

Agreed.

I am kinda glad MMJ's not playing this festival, because (1) the ticket prices are insane, and (2) this show is a logistical nightmare for anyone not living in the city of San Francisco.  Golden Gate Park is nowhere near BART, and parking a car near the park is out of the question.

In a selfish way, I'd rather have MMJ all to myself at a place like the Fillmore than at a huge festival.

i'll take MMJ where ever i can get them.  But your right too...MMJ doesn't make or break a fest.  So long as radiohead, beck, wilco, manu chao, dbt, the coup, a. bird, m. ward, lyrics born and devandra are playing in my back yard, I WILL BE THERE.

but i can still hope MMJ gets the add....

There's also the Treasure Island Music Festival in September, which hasn't announced it's line-up yet, and is a possible stage that MMJ could play. Here's a link to the festival site, which doesn't have much up yet excpet a cool picture and a link to last year's festival page:

Last year was it's inaugural run, which was small, but quality, and apparently successful enough to have another go. It's promoted by the Noise Pop guys.

BUT, it's (hopefully) not a question of if they come back to SF this year, but when and where. I'd prefer it if their appearance is a mult-night run at a small-ish (relative to GG Park) local venue that they headline.

Exciting line-up, but that show is going to be insanely crowded.  I'm pretty sure it's going to be in the same place as the Summer of Love festival last summer (boring), and I just don't know if that area is big enough for a big festival like this.

And best way to get there is take BART and then Muni bus.  Can't remember the bus #, but it's pretty easy.  Crowded buses though.  Need to get there early.  And don't bring a kid.

Don't know who I'm going with, but I definitely want to go!
Touch me I'm going to scream.

i hope they add prince to this line up too!
