Does anyone have any idea who possible tour openers may be? Anyone MMJ has been kickin it with?

Sounds like The Whigs would be a good opener, label mates and all.  My dream would be Yeasayer though...fresh new band that you MUST check out.  I listened to them and thought they would be a perfect opener for The Jacket.
God damn those shaky knees.

Anu

Yeasayer. That would be perfect.

You guys wanna hear a great opener for the boys??  Check out the new Howlin' Rain disk.  Magnificent Fiend.
O, How time flies, with crystal clear eyes.  But it's cold, it's cold, when you're ending with diamond eyes.

You guys mind directing me toward some Howlin' Rain or Yeasayer?  Both are bands I have heard a good bit about lately, but I have none of their tunes.

I think Dead Confederate would be a solid opener.  Whigs are pretty good live (I prefer the studio), but I think DC would better feed into Jacket's sound, and they just flat out rock.
Keep on dreamin' boy,
cuz when you stop dreamin'
it's time to die.

So soon after payday, know it seemed a shame!

Amazon and I-tunes both have great samples top hear.  Stereogum as well.  think CCR mixed with Blind Faith mixed with the Boredoms.

Dead Confederate AND the Whigs are both Athens, Ga. bands....  Homies!!!!!

Could not agree with this anymore...Howlin' Rain is where it is at...no idea how more people don't know about these guys.

all bands mentioned sound good to me especially Dead Confederate and Yeahsayer.

i also wouldn't mind Okkervill River or The Bees.
Stolen as the war begun, this time your soul is my one.

I would like something subtle, and a bit more quiet as a nice contrast, like Ray LaMontangne, or some other up and comer singer songwriter that might do a nice solo type show.
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

Felice Brothers would be great too.

yes. I saw them open for kings of Leon and they were great. We also talked to them after the show and they're nice guys to boot!

At the Ryman?  MY brother and I also met them while they were  selling their merch.  Real nice guys, and I thought they were a better opener than the Secret Machines.

My vote goes to this chick named Meghan Hamiltin or somethin like that...

damn right.

Ive got an EVIL plan babe

I don't understand why people like the Whigs.  After watching a mind blowing set by the opener, Wax Fang, the Whigs didn't sound appealing at all.  I had to leave after the second song, which was too bad for the Whigs because I'm pretty sure my girlfriend and I were the last two non-band members there.
Just cause it starts off slow babe, doesn't mean I  don't have evil urges.
