I know that there are a ton of posts about the Atlanta show last week, but I wanted to take a moment to remind everyone of a couple of things.  1) I did not attend this show.  2) This show was fucking awesome!

Maybe it doesn't deserve it's own thread five whole days after the show.  But we are all here because we are rocking out some Jacket this summer and fall and we all want to talk about what's coming up and what's just happened.  No sweat, just sayin'.  I'm guilty of it, too.  The Louisville and Nashville and Bonnaroo and Ear X-tacy shows that I went to are buried so deep that some people have forgotten they even happened.  But that's okay.  The reason for this thread, is to give props to the Atlanta show.

Now, I thought the Dallas show was amazing with all the Erikah Badu stuff, and I'm still waiting on that show to surface.  But I listened to the Atlanta show last night and I am so fucking jealous that I wasn't there.

First of all, the mood that Jim was in that night was...spunkier than usual.  Maybe he was drunk.  Maybe he was horny.  I don't know, but he was on fire, I know that.  The best Off The Record I've ever heard!  I like how they didn't end the set with Pt. 2>Good Intentions, but they went on into Run Thru.  Evelyn...oh, my sweet Evelyn!!!  What do I say about you?  You're so beautiful!  Instead of, "Take it away, Johnny," it was "FUCK 'EM UP, CARL!"--priceless!  Let's not forget about COBRA and War Begun, which some people have been taking for granted because they've been played quite a bit lately...but damn it, The Bear!!!!!  They played Remnants and Aluminum Park back-to-back for crying out loud; I don't think those two have ever even been played at the same show--except for Ear X-tacy, but that's when they played the entire new album front to back.

It just seemed like such a magical show.  There were so many visuals from listening to it.  As I said, I wasn't there, in fact I've never been to The Fabulous Fox Theater...or The Fabulous, but I swear I was there that night...just happened to be a few days later.

PEACE!  ;)

Thank you!  I was at the Fabulous that night!  This was my first Jacket show, framing my poster and putting it up in the office at work :)

Well put Love Dog!  I always love seein' my hometown pop back to the top of the threads, I'm not ashamed to say.  Always great reliving a show and what is awesome is you reminded me of some awesome parts that I forgot about, even though I was there.  Going to have my first opportunity to listen to the whole thing tonight and can't wait!
Keep on dreamin' boy,
cuz when you stop dreamin'
it's time to die.

it really was an amazing show, MMJ could not have picked a better venue than the fox. What I love about that place is how its the most intimate arena-type show you will see. The acoustics were ridiculously good, and enough can't be said about the ushers who basically allowed bedlam to occur from dondante till the end of the show. Despite the fact that the entire lower level was filled with seats, you couldnt tell with the way twice as many people were filling into the rows and dancing in the aisles. Complete madness and the band was feeding off every moment of it. COME BACK TO THE FOX

I agree with this.

I'm amazed--literally--at the powerful performances that I have seen from this band, but I have never had my face fucking melted off like I had at the Fabulous.  Thank you, Love Dog, for creating this appreciation thread.  It reminds me that what I witnessed was not merely my imagination (or my corn-cobbed brain) but was experienced by many--even those who are fortunate enough to get to listen to it later.  It even compelled me post my thoughts online, which is a first for me.  You forum folks are a great community.  Thanks for keeping the love flowing.
  FUCK EM UP CARL!!!!
