I like that suggestion Meg. Too bad she got up and left the room and went to bed without saying g'night. It's a bit chilly here and it ain't from the cold front that rolled through.

Besides the Jacket, tasty delicious pies, & Hot Browns, anything else I can tempt her with? And glass looking rocks mined by a group of former Aparthied supporting jewlers is NOT on the table.

I'm thinking about selling my RCMH tickets and just hitting this one.

QuoteFor any out-of-towners thinking of coming to this I would highly recommend it. Downtown Louisville is very safe and there are hotels within walking distance of the Great Lawn and Waterfront Park.

Here are some things I would personally recommend to anyone visiting. (I am sure others can add more good things to this)

Places close by to Stay:
21c http://www.21cmuseumhotel.com/overview/default.aspx
Galt House http://www.galthouse.com/

Places Close by to Eat/Drink:
Browning's Brewery http://www.diningonmain.com/Brownings/Brownings_home.html
Jazz Factory http://www.jazzfactory.us/directions.asp
Stevie Ray's Blues Bar http://www.stevieraysbluesbar.com/
Rocky's Italian Grill http://eatatrockys.com/jeffersonville.php
Bearno's By the Bridge http://www.bearnospizza.net/locations.htm

I was looking at pics and rates at The Brown last evening. Is it within walking/stumbling/staggering distance?

QuoteOh I'm working something here. It's totally getting ignored, but I'm working on it. I think I can do 2 Jacket shows in a year. If, and this is a totally hypothetical if, I may ask to crash on someones yard or driveway. Id have to go economy. Again, that is IF I can win the war that is about to rage in the Koehler household.

There will be a tasty bottle of some elixar and a pie from this place as ayment http://www.piekitchen.com/

Damn, you're mom is strict!   ;)

Sorry, couldn't help myself.  But seriously, why does she hate your love of music so much? I think you know where I stand on this thing.  GO!!!

Anyway. I could probably offer you space in the yard or the driveway but I'd have to check with my wife first.  Looks like we already have a bunch of visitors but she said as long as a bunch of people aren't spending the night in the house she was cool with it.  This is going to be a hell of a weekend.  Hope you can make it.

This is outstanding.  I'm will definitely be there.  I'm hitting up the Jaket at Bonnaroo for the first time in June and then 3 hours of Jacket in the Ville in August.  This summer is gonna be delightful.  I would love to meet up with some other Jacket fans.  ;D

uhhhhh, I don't think so. >:(
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

mjkoehler

Brian- NO!!!! RCMH I think is a once in a lifetime show. You cannot pass that up if you already have a ticket that didn't come easy for many if I remember

aMd/Teo- Yeah she just hates that I love my music as much as I do. The sad part is she loves music....just nothing I do. I'm still fighting this fight. I just cannot pass up this show. Besides I miss going to Louisville since my brother doesn't live there anymore (which would have been f'n ideal if he still did).

If you're lucky, MMJ will fill the void you didn't even know you ever had. If you're luckier, you'll get to see them live.

Dylan...this may be the first time we hang out, but hopefully we can chill before this show.  we are going to set this "night on fire" in the 'Ville!

the Pie Kitchen is the sh*t!!!

I love that place! The only establishment that I've ever found that serves Chess Pie. My obsession with this tasty delicious pie (and it's several variations) knows no end. I used to go to the one in the lower Highlands on Bardstown and just gorge. Chess Pie and Treacle Tarts....man I need to leave work and go home and bake!

I got mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8-)

the presale password is pretty easy to figure out...I haven't bought tickets yet because I keep feeling like I'm doing something wrong  :)

There isn't any chance ticketmaster would cancel my order is there?

Can't wait for the show.
