Hi guys,

I just want to get a roll call going for forumers who are attending this show. I know there may not be many...

I will get the ball rolling:

With bells on! Fan for 3-4 years now, never seen them live.

Anyone heard or seen anything of a poster commissioned for the Billboard gig or the MMJ/Neil Young show?

ralph

At my house, we call them uh-ohs.

nickdavies7

Yeah, i have never seen them live before either i can't wait.

The Melvins have just announced a second show on the 27th, and this gig is in the afternoon!!! I scored myself tickets!!! It finishes around 7:30pm, so i will just walk around the corner to Billboards! Very well timed! It will be a big night!

Hey guys,

Any music stores in Melbourne with a good selection of new vinyl? On past visits to Melbourne I've only really come across Greville, a shop on Chapel and the chain stores.

I just spotted the comment in the other thread about the prospect of MMJ teaming up with Neil during the Myers encore - talk about getting the imagination flowing. How magic would that me! Neil teaming up with the Jacket for Down By The River or No Hidden Path or anything!

Yeah mate, the first place i will recommend is Polyester records on Flinders Lane (just off the corner of Elizabeth Street.) I was in there about a month ago and they had every MMJ LP on vinyl (incl. At Dawn and TF). Good prices there as well.

Another good place for new vinyl is JB Hi Fi on Bourke Street. I got my Evil urges one there. And they have other titles as well.

And just around the corner from there on Swanston Street (in between bourke and lonsdale) is collecter's corner. they have an amazing range of new and second hand vinyl.

Also Dixon's recycled which is second hand and have some gems. There are about 7-8 stores over melb, but there is one in Prahran and Fitzroy.

They are the best ones i know of near the city...

I am gettin into vinyl now as well, so i have sussed these ones out.

Enjoy... :)

Still go to Greville Records to have a look around though.  Best record store in Melbourne hands down.  Been going there for years and always left with something good under my arm...

8 Sleeps til Brisbane!!!

Yeah i hear Greville is quite amazing. I need to find more record stores for my collection.

There is also Alley Tunes in Hawthorn, just under glenferrie station... But they have more trance and electronica stuff. I bought my Led Zeppelin IV from there. The bastards had tried to play Stairway To Heaven backwards so it is all scratched!!  >:(

Thanks for the tips! Better pack my visa! Recently picked up a record player so keen to snare my fav albums on vinyl (At Dawn and Built to Spill's Perfect From Now On head the list).

Greville is cool. When I was over a few years ago I picked up a sweet Flying Burrito Bros t-shirt (which I think they were making themselves) - draws comments whenever I venture into my local record stores or at gigs.

nickdavies7

Matt, I just bought 'Z' on vinyl from Polyester in city. They have It Still Moves, At Dawn , and The Tennessee Fire. They are $39.95 each. Brand New. And also Acoustic Citsuoca for $29.95.

JB Hi fi in Bourke Street has Evil Urges for about $35.

Pack your visa, you will need it.

We should all catch up for beers. I won't be there until 8pm coz of the Melvins show at Ding Dong...

nickdavies7

There used to be 'Agogo records'. that isn't the one your thinkin of? Collectors corner in Swanston steet is very good.
