Just saw this really awesome show at the Troubadour.  Everest played a hell of a gig, with a great looking video projection background of trees, mountains, the sun and other random images.

They are getting tighter each time I see them, they played a great mix of melancholy country tinged rock alongside some full blow rock assaults!
Bo guested on keys the whole night and added a lot to the sound, as well as doing background vocals, shaker and tambourine!

At one point the frontman Russ jumped up to the balcony on the 2nd level and played his tambourine.  They opened with a new tune and played several new ones throughout the night.. many of them being heavier rock type songs, but still with some quiet acoustic elements as well.  One of them was said to be about sleepwalking.
Rebels in the Roses was a huge highlight, and he said that sometimes they feel like they could just play that song all night (probably because of the jam at the end)
The bass was prominent and really smooth... loved it!
They jammed out the songs really well, not surprisingly with some Neil Young influences as well as some really psychedelic stuff.

These guys are so great, I hope everyone gets a chance to check out their music!!!  if they did a tour or leg opening for MMJ, it would be supreme!!!

They did open up for MMJ during the EU tour. I saw them open up for them in Paris two Julys ago. Their might have been 200 people tops. Got to meet Bo, Tommy, and Jim, and on the way home, we road on the metro with Everest, really nice guys, great show. They did a cover of Dylan's "You Ain't Goin Nowhere" w/Jim and Carl on slide, it was bitchin.

chief, just HOW did that guy get up to the balcony?  did he run thru the green room area or up the side steps?  that would have been fun to see!

i'm bummed to have missed this show. (o! work!)  the troubadour is a great spot for homecoming type shows.  and bo-bonus! (bo-nus?)

also:  dude, i am ready to meet you at the daily pint.  don't mind that it is noon on a saturday.
