I celebrated my 30th birthday last night at the Greek with MoF, and just wanted to share a couple of thoughts.

Ward is fucking sick.  He... just killed it last night.  As a bonus, one of my dear friends left for a drink mid-set and ran into him smoking a cigarette.  She told him it was my birthday, and he gave her the pick he'd been using, so I got an excellent birthday present in addition to the amazing music!
happy birthday jjb!
glad you got turned onto m. ward!  great story, too!

my quick review of the weekend:  i feel GREAT today!  [smiley=vrolijk_26.gif]

What a great way to spend your 30th b-day jjb.  3 weeks from tonight is too long of a wait until Philly!!!

Thanks for all of the links Tieoptional!  Great stuff.

I noticed that Smoke Without Fire (Oberst) is not on the list on the first page, FYI.  I have kept track of all the setlists from the beginning of time so I appreciate your help!  These shows are very confusing, plus most people, including myself are not familiar with every song so it's going to be tough.  Even the Oakland list seems to have a few question marks on it and we have a picture of the setlist!!!

Only one way to be sure.......I hope some recordings show up soon.
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

Thanks for pointing that one out! Slipped through the cracks. :)

So am I the only one a little surprised to not see any of YY's George Harrison covers on the MoF setlists?  They're all contributing from their solo and band catalogs and I figured these shows would be a good place to highlight Tribute To, which after all is for a good cause (though I do likes me them hamburgers!).

P.S. just got promoted to "junior member"!  How long to the next level?  Its like gaining rank in Call of Duty (anyone?).
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

I am surprised to see that. I figured he would put at least one of Goerge's songs into the set.
I'm wondering if the setlist will change as the tour keeps moving? Prob get tired of laying down the same tunes every night, so who knows? Maybe he'll break out that "All Things Must Pass" in Louisville on Halloween. Please Jim, won't you? :)

I did think they would do a cover or two each night just based on the fact that they did last time they all toured together.  Always On My Mind and Girl From the North Country come to mind, but I'm pretty sure they did at least one cover every night.

if anyone has a link to any of the recent performances of "i will be there when you die," it would be greatly appreciated!
