QuoteYes, they have a VERY strict no camera policy.  I had a press photo pass so that is how I got the pics.  Also- there was a first-three-songs-only policy.  So basically you fire away like mad for three songs!  For the shots of the band from the end of the show I had to break the rules though!

ok, thanks.  :-/

you open those doors Soulshine, put your foot in that venue, dont let them find your camera, get as close to the stage as possible whilst walking like you own the joint, then once the show starts you pull that mofo out and take some pictures that prove Soulshine. Was. There.

Following this thread - just joined. Hello to everyone![smiley=vrolijk_26.gif]

The Oakland show was standing GA. Considering how packed it was in the first two sections, taking pics/video was easy. Even if you were spotted, nobody could get to you.

Anyone know how many shows have/had Standing GA?

Sketchy video, I had been told not to use my camera a good 3-4 times last night, so I was trying to keep it low key. The sound is decent though.

QuoteJust got back from night 2 of the Bridge School Benefit.  I didn't go to night 1.

Today they played:

Say Please
Conor Song where the drummer sings (I know they played it in Oakland)
Dear God
Golden
Map Of The World
M. Ward song (pretty sure they played it in Oakland, too)
Losin' Yer Head

I'm really starting to wish I knew the Conor and M. Ward catalogs more.

I'm amazed they played Dear God and Losin' Yer Head acoustically.  Sounded good.

Saw Jim come out and sit a few rows in front of me right before Chris Martin's set.

Bridge School is always an amazing experience.  Glad the MOF represented this year.

Quoting myself to update the Bridge night 2 set list:

Say Please
At The Bottom Of Everything
Dear God
Golden
Map Of The World
To Save Me
Losin' Yer Head

They also came out and sang backup on Comes A Time to end the show.

You can download the entire BSB Sunday (including MOF) here:

Neil Young's sets for both nights are also available on dime.

it's friday, dimeadozen.org is accepting requests right now.  check it out.

HOly SmOkin FrOm ShOOtin!  Wow.  What a night.  Just now getting to sit down and think back.  First off,  I got to have a cocktail before hand with Tater and Jernigan!  Nice meeting your two friends as well Tater.  What a nice way to kick it off!  Was hoping to run into you guys again afterwards.

I have the setlist but need a bit of help on two Conor songs.

1. Say Please
2. The Right Place
3. Soul Singer In A Session Band
4. Slow Down Jo (It's not easy pulling off a lot of slow quite stuff with a Friday night big crowd but M. and the rest pulled it off quite well.  My first time to finally, see him and wow, just wow.)
5. Ahead Of The Curve
6. Lullaby + Exile (So sweet)
7. We Are Nowhere and It's Now
8, Conor song (Lyric - "Stare into a Crowd"  I know that's weak but it's all I got.)
9. Baby Boomer
10. Bermuda Highway
11. Look At You  (Jim was in a fucking zone for the guitar drumming at the end!  This was a turning point for the show I think, the crowd was loving it.)
12. Man Named Truth
13. Vincent O'Brien (So I drink the whole night thru.)
14. One Life Away (M. Ward - first time played maybe? )
15. Wonderful (The Way I Feel)
16. Lime Tree (This sounded great live)
17. Dear God (#3 of the top three moments of the night.  I already liked this song but live it exploded the way Off The Record does.  I think I remember seeing Jim Playing the Omnichord, the bass and singing all at the same time.)
18. Temezcal
19. To Save Me
20. Goodway (I'm really starting to fall in love with everything about this song.)
21. SMoke Without Fire
22. One Hundred Million Years
23. Chinese Translation (#2 of the top three moments.  M did this solo, which I've never heard or seen before, and it was downright amazing.  He slowed the "Three questions" part of the song down to a crawl and then sped up the rest.  His guitar work was alien like.  What do you do with the pieces of a broken heart?  Not positive it was this song but somebody yelled out to M, "WHY ARE YOU SO AWEMOME!"
24. At The Bottom Of Everything (Jim actually sang a whole verse lead on this and it sounded spectacular.)
25. Sandman, Breakman and ME  (mmmm, mmmm, mmmm, musical zanex)
26. Map Of The World (Honerable Mention, the jam on this song at the end was really good.)
27. Smokin' From Shootin  (#1 OK, this is the moment where the forces took over my body and I lost my shit.  The two dudes in baby blue jackets I met went nuts with me.    It may have been one of my greatest concert 30 seconds of all time.   The hair on the back of my neck was standing up.  POW!)
28. Conor Song (I got nothin! help?!??!)Hit the switch maybe?
29. Losin' Your Head (Uh Yeah, about 15 songs earlier.   Partying with strangers this time. :))

encore

30. At Dawn
31. Whole Lotta Losin'  (Steets of Chicago right!)
32. Another Travilin' Song  (Great spot for this song. )
33. His Master's Voice (It's been a year since I've teared up at a show.  Not anymore.  I walked all the way to the front for this one.  What an emotionally charged night.)

Got a poster.  It's awesome and I'm glad I have it, but it totally sucked carrying that thing around all night.  Some asshole sat on it.  (Because some dumbass (me) sat it in his seat after he got up and left for the 14th time.)

Went drinkin' with the guys in the baby blue jackets afterwards and the rest is blury. ;)  If you guys are out there.  Cheers. [smiley=beer.gif]

Now I'm hearing news of KISS in Louisville.  Can't wait to hear more.  I hope we get at least one recording of a Theatre show.

I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

Unfortunately no.  I live in B'more where there will be no MOF.  I am contemplating purchasing a single and rolling up to Philly but it is a Monday night.  I left the Chicago area 8 years ago and now only make an annual pilgrimage to visit buddies.

I share many of your goosebump moments.  "Smokin.." brought the whole place alive.  To see the whole crowd react like that and stay on their feet the rest of the show gave me chills.  First time seeing M Ward live (I have most of his albums and liked him going in) and he was absolutely amazing.  The guy yelled out "why are you so awesome" after "One Hundred Million Years".  M was still on stage in the dark changing guitars and getting ready for "Chinese Translation" and he said, "Thank you Chicago, you're too kind".  He totally looked and sounded like some dude from the 50's at that moment, what a performer and persona.

I wasn't in Chicago, but I'm pretty sure the two songs are The Big Picture (from Lifted) and Hit the Switch (from Digital Ash in a Digital Urn).

It wasn't that easy; one of their crew members came up from behind me & grabbed me by the shoulder.  I had maybe 5 or 6 people in front of me, they had no problem getting through the crowd to stop people from taking pictures.
