Chiming in...I'd be hard pressed to do lawn at this venue. The overhang on the pav is so low, the views are just wretched.

And ladies (at least those of you who have been to Wolf Trap)...the bathroom situation is the pits, as in way too few and very long lines.

On a positive note, it's only 30 minutes from me.  :-/
God sure baked a lot of fruitcake, baby.

QuoteSo wait, there's no boozin' at this place?

This is important, someone clarify, because I'm on the fence (also comin from Jerz)

Also, what are we lookin at for ticket prices?

It's really hit or miss. I've been to a number of shows where tailgating isn't an issue, but I've been to more shows where they stop the tailgating since technically, no tailgating is their policy. I would park somewhere other than the merriweather lots and tailgate there, there's an office parking garage literally right next to the lots that is fun and generally a good party and I've never had any issues there (it is also the fastest way to get out). I can give more details on how to get to that lot if people need/want but it's pretty easy.

I have no idea on ticket prices as they're generally on par with whatever the rest of the tour is.

Last, if you do end up in the lawn for one reason or another your best bet is to get as close to the front as possible so you can see the stage, but the only downer is your calves will kill you the next day from the incline of the slope!

Don't let the tailgating issues discourage you from going form this awesome show, there's plenty of other parking lots to party other than merriweather lots.

I've partied in many a parking garage and it is def the way to go. However, if you have to pee dont hold it b/c you could get uromisotisis poisoning and die

Very true

How hardcore are the pavilion employees, i.e. regarding people dancing in the aisle, checking stubs once your already in the pav, etc??

If you get Pavs youre going to stub me down Sass, right?  :)

having to hold in piss at a show is the worst.

seems strange tailgating is such an issue.  at DTE they have the "put your booze in a cup"unwritten policy.  If the numerous cops spot you with a beer bottle, depending on the circumstance, they'll make you pour it out.  But if you use a random plastic cup so that nobody will have an idea what you're sippin on, in most cases the cops will focus on the blatantly obvious minors who do not follow the unspoken rules of the lot.  Can they actually kick you out or ticket you if you're of legal age to drink?  I thought this was america.  wtf clear channel?

is it like blossom in Ohio?  huge lawn, low roof.  whoever built some of these venues made some pretty stupid logistical errors.  these are the biggest venues MMJ has played to date right? minus the festies and MSG.   should be interesting to see how the energy is with so many fans.

They packed Radio city and that show was a banger... Personally liked it better than MSG because yim wents nuts and ran up the rafters. And also to mention that Caleb from KOL had seats behind me!

Did you happen to turn around during the show to see a face that looks something like  :o "oh shit these guys rock so much harder than my band"

Yeah seriously the crowd at Radio city was great. I doubt KOL gets the same energy. Love the KOL but MMJ is a better rock band...after the show everyone was howling and this NYC garbage truck just leand on his horn for a solid minute. Hence the reason why I love rock music=Best drug ever.

Merriwather is probably 4 times the capacity of RCMH, and not to mention outdoors. Ive very interested to see how that show pans out as Im pretty sure Bonnaroo is the only outdoor "venue" theyve played that is even close to that size

Really? I didn't realize that they hadn't done more outdoor big capacity shows.  Since we are up in the northeast, we have only seen them indoors....which has been amazing everytime.
CANNOT WAIT!
Also praying for NE dates to come!!

Not that Im aware of...They typically played the 10-12K general admission type venue.

Not sure what the other venues are like this tour, but Id guess Merriweather is like 25K capacity

19k is merriweather capacity.

Anyone have a guess as to whether there will be a GA pit in the front?  Curious after reviewing seating charts.

Maybe Im just pessimistic but Id be ecstatic if I just get Pav tix...If youre hoping for pit, prepare for disappointment and plan accordingly

I think this show - or at least Pav tix - is going to be a lot harder of a ticket than people realize

Not going to do the package, but interested if there is a pre-sale.  I really want to get top notch seats for this one.  Haven't seen them in too long!
