QuoteI am so beyond there. This is the festival I have been waiting for. How comfortable are the amenities at the gorge? Is it rough camping, like people on top of each other? I havent been to a festival since woodstock 94 and that was a fucking mess.

I've only been to Sasquatch once, last year, but we plan on making it a yearly.  Anyhoo, in regular camping it was car camping and when we arrived about midnight on Friday night it was a complete cluster'eff.  However, it worked out to our advantage since there was little to no security or direction at "load in".  For example: There was an RV driving through the campsite without anybody giving him direction (along with many other cars) looking for a spot and it took out one of those huge agricultural sprinkler systems that farmers use - he didn't know he had caught it with the top of the rented Winnebago and was towing it across the field of peeps. People were hollering and trying to get him to stop. Water was spraying everywhere, and it was a mess!  Anyway, people were scurrying everywhere and it caused such a mess that everyone just ended up moving cars anywhich way away from the flood and we ended up with a much bigger spot.

Also, it's a bit of a shlep from regular camping to the venue entrance.  It's probably only .75 or 1 mile, but it feels like 5.  As well, I only attempted a shower once and it was freezing cold and fairly nasty in there.  The food at the venue sucks ass and is way overpriced.  I'm def doing VIP this year.  That all being said, we had a supremely awesome time and I would recommend going!!

So like, your average festival, it's smells like ass and patchouli all weekend? I was thinking the VIP as well, I'm too old for all that. How much of a bitch is is to bring in a case or two of beer? If not how much did it run at the venue? I think I am just going to rent an suv and sleep in there. My girlfriends parents live in Spokane, so we may just drive back there afterwards and crash instead of hopping right on a plane. We are in Ohio, btw. Thanks for all the info! We should meet up!

also, I ride a lambretta  :P

Also check the Sasquatch boards, there is a lot of good info about the site and logistics of the weekend.

I'm a college student from NJ trying to get out to the Gorge. I'm having a really really really tough time trying to find a ride from Seattle to the Gorge. What does everyone suggest.

QuoteI'd love to do this festival but plane tickets are not pretty to Seattle and then I'd have to rent a car, fly with camping gear, etc.  The logistics are killing me.
you could fly into portland via southwest.  a couple summers ago i flew w-camping equip.  i put a small tent, sleeping bag and some ammenties in a rolling duffel and checked it.  keep it simple:  don't pack a campstove or anything. ;)

also:  just bought a ticket for saturday!  once i figure if i've got camping in me, i'll buy tix for sun & mon.  [smiley=cheesy.gif]

You can also rent camping gear pretty cheaply from REI in Portland or Seattle.

We booked a hotel in the area for $60 a night. I'm thinking the extra comfort is worth some extra $.

Just bought our 3-day passes!  (beans and rice w/2 buck chuck for the rest of the month!).

Unfortunately, premiere camping is sold out, so....I emailed Sasi and they told me they're working on VIP camping.  Hopefully I won't have to sell my dog to afford the tix.  Otherwise, I guess we'll be sleeping on the highway!!! (PLease don't make me camp in regular!!!).

See you all there!!!! Woot!
My jacket's gonna be cut slim and checked

Hey vespa, if I were to make the road trip out there, could I convince you to camp with the poor people? I'm eating beans too!

If anyone ends up needing or wanting a room, I have two booked at the Super 8 at Moses Lake.  It's about a 30 minute or less drive to the Gorge. I'll hang on to them for about a month before I cancel, so just be in touch if you want one or both (both have two queen size beds in each room).

We stayed there two years ago and it wasn't a bad drive in to the fest or back.
God sure baked a lot of fruitcake, baby.

I have been perusing the Sasquatch lineup and I am *this* close to deciding that I need to go. Of all bands, Midlake is pushing me over the top (which is kind of silly, seeing as I could just drive down to Denton, TX). Another compelling factor is that it's been a few years since I've driven across the country to see MMJ, and it's about time to hitch that wagon again.

Anybody who is located between Oklahoma and WA and thinking about this, I have extra seats in my jeep.

Thank you for stating that. I am now the proud owner of a Midlake album.
