I was crouching outside of preservation hall peeping through the holes in the wooden doors that night, and even though every song was filtered through wood and glass it sounded tear-jerkingly beautiful. at the first hint of at dawn everybody in the street let out a collective squeak of excitement! Knot comes loose was by far my favorite of the night...
On a separate note, when Patrick and PHJB came outside after the show and second-lined down the street, there was some guy with a bigger than normal (and relatively professional looking) camera filming the whole thing who came out from the inside. Does anyone know if that night was filmed or maybe being released by PHJB??? I have my fingers crossed...

Heard (read) on Twitter:
(Chalkdust99)"Sat next to Danny Clinch (Phish, etc photog) last night @Preshall for #mymorningjacket. He was tight-lipped, but he had a crew of 4 filming. My guess is that they are putting out a DVD of the weekend's performances, but what do I know? #mymorningjacket  #preshall"

Danny Clinch was definitely there and the guy behind me was filming.
God sure baked a lot of fruitcake, baby.

Clinch and his crew even stayed around for the second line -- and he was definitely directing them during that -- so I think we'll be seeing something. The question is: when? when? when?

QuoteGreat show yesterday. The band really impressed folks here in NOLA. I heard a lady next to me say, "I've never seen these guys but they are REALLY good!". The PHJB and the Bonerama horns really added to the ending. The band really played the New Orleans tunes well, not slapped together covers but full on versions. And the Curtis tune at the end was perfect. A great Jazz Fest set!

I completely agree!  I was so glad when I saw Bonerama sit in with them! I was almost taken back by the addition of the Bonerama horns!

Yeah, we definitely had a small, but very dedicated, constituency outside of Preservation Hall for the entire show.  While I would have killed to be inside the place, we could definitely hear it well enough to make it more than worth it.  Not even filthy panes of glass and solid wood shutters could hold back that voice..... plus we had a pretty good view over Patrick's shoulder through various holes and cracks in the wood.

And you're right on about the collective squeak, although I remember it as more of a "Fuck me, I can't believe they are playing At Dawn/an acoustic fucking Dondante/Knot Comes Loose and I'm somehow not in there" groan..... emitted simultaneously at the beginning of each of those 3 songs by all Jacket fans within earshot.

Their Jazzfest performance was great, but the show that night was definitely the highlight...... and that's saying a lot considering I wasn't even inside the venue.  It was nice to be able to enjoy that with some fellow MMJ fans.

And as far as Danny Clinch is concerned, I don't know of any time frame, but this article here confirms that it is, indeed, for a documentary (3rd paragraph):

Thank you so much for finding this link! Confirmation of the documentary is a much needed pick-me-up after seeing the setlist tonight from Charleston...and forgive me for the squeak reference, groan is much more accurate  ;D
If you hear anything else about a release date, please share!
