How many of us will have bad backs at these shows and may be forced to drown the pain in alcohol or just find a place to sit by the end of the night?

I say we all join forces, beat up some punk at the show, and make them get on all fours and act as a chair on demand

I heard heavy doses of reverb are great for bad backs.
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

I don't have a bad back, but I know I'm old because I wear a cardigan at work because it's so fucking cold inside because of the goddamn air conditioner. Add me to this roll call, and get off my lawn!

I'll be glad to help waylay some young punk to act as a platform for my sore-backed peeps.

Bad back here!!  I fear I'll never be the same after the surgery I had...

Even though I'm only 25 I think I need to join this club. I pulled something in my back last Thursday playing basketball with some kids that I teach. It has hurt something fierce since then. Sunday I spent the majority of the day in bed with a heating pad, and the pain has caused to have to sit out the last few days of basketball this week.

Cop: pullover!

Lloyd: No, its a cardigan, but thanks for asking!

Add 8bobbyb to the list, but I'm sure that we won't feel anything until Sunday morning......adrenaline will be our friend

You can add me to the list also.

Every once in a while my back decides to bail on me. Happened at the Essex Jct. show a couple of weeks ago. Thankfully the spasms waited until the very end of the show to flare up.

This thread is exactly why I went for seats at KFC instead of GA. I figure my back will have all it can take with the 5 at T5.

I'm only 27, but have two broken vertebre (L4/L5), herniated discs in the same area, and some unfun nerve damage.

So yeah, that's why I started this. I'm gonna be the first to admit that I'll lurk near a wall/rail/pole/the bar just so I can find some open space to take a break.

I've been at the rail when I can, but sometimes bow out around encore time to the back or an empty seat.  Lately, my left hand goes numb and my left thigh, too.  My chiropractor is having a coronary trying to figure out what I'm doing.  He's being nice not stating the obvious... I am quite overweight.  That ain't helping.  I might try to start T5 #5 up front, though I'm not gonna stress about it too much.  I definitely felt it the night after Essex Jct.!
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

Dude you sound like me. Doctor also was mystified...said they can explain the leg but not the hand.

I, too, lost weight. A lot. 70 lbs approximately. The symptoms aren't gone, but at least I eliminated one possible cause

I think I belong in this thread, but don't want to admit it. Add the timezone changes and jetlag I'll have and I could very well be a blubbering mess on night 1! My plan is go hard and have as much fun as I can and then get back home and pass out for a week...
At my house, we call them uh-ohs.

I too am old and the back ain't what it use to be but I have a plan.
Anyone caught throwing a glowstick in the direction of the stage(that big tall floor up front where the musicians are standing)becomes a human chair for the more gracious mature fans.

I haven't done five shows in six nights in a while.  I did do 4 in 5 about two years ago, ( 2 Dead + 2 Bruce).

Even though I didn't sit much for either, I still had a nice seat for all four to cop a squat if needed. No back problems after those shows.....but five ga shows will definitely be interesting.

I'm sure I'll be looking for a place in there to chill a bit also.

Only 29, but in the past year have pulled my back, sprained a mcl, and most recently have a sprained hammy.  Get old is horrible, got to realize my days of heavy lifting and competitive sports may be behind me.  I know standing through the entire Philly show almost killed me.

Monkeyboy

I am middle age with degenerative disc disease and a broken foot currently.  Out of the boot early October.  I broke it at the Essex VT show in August and have dealing since.  Had to bail on Holyoke MA in order to recover, so the Maine show is an unexpected add to my calendar.  Hopefully, I will be off the crutches full-time by T5!

Chode buddy, I feel for you, broke my L2 in 3 places at xmastime last year, surgery in March and Im just now feeling much better, but I dont think I'll be the same.  Like you I still have nerve pain, the neurotin works though, but side effects suck.  The nerve pain is the worst part, there's nothing that they can do.
