I live in Hoboken. You can either take the Path Train (Underwater train that takes about 10-12 min to get you to 33rd st) or the bus (will get you to 42nd street Port Authority). Soulshine and I will be taking the bus in most days (and days i might work, she'll take it in) if you wanna meet up. Hoboken is 1 square mile the bus stops on every other stop and runs 24 hours (same as the train).

sorry but to answer your question simply, the subway runs in manhattan not out to jersey, both the bus and the Path Train (NJ transit) run 24 hours a day...hoboken is probably the best place you can stay outside of Manhattan.

thanks penny. i've taken the "path" train before. just wasn't sure about hours of operation. good to know it's 24. good to know about the buses as well. maybe i'll do that.

...and i'll get in touch with you about meeting up. i'll be there for all five shows, but thursday i'm gonna have to go by myself. might be nice to travel with some other fans. thanks again.

i'm a fan of the buses on the weekends. just remember that after 10 (or 11) you have to go upstairs to catch it because the gate changes but it drops you right on your corner as opposed to the path train (more drunks/crowded etc) and you have to walk from the station. i just planned to walk from Port Authority up to McGhees or to/from Terminal 5, i've done it many times. it's pretty frequent until after 1 or 2, then it's every 30 min or hour..
