Just curious why The Tennessee Fire was demoted? It's likely to always be in my top 10, unless MMJ release 10 better ones.

And so you see how subjective music really is.  One moment you hail to one cd the other moment another album is praised as never before.

QuoteLeonard Cohen - Songs of Leonard Cohen

While that is a good album, might I direct you to "Field Commander Cohen-tour 79".I consider this one to be his best. ;)

And the new one "Dear Heather" is pretty good too.

O: What do think of the new Fruscainte stuff that has been pouring out the past 4 months?

Oz

My list raised a lot of questions, I see... :)

First of all, 'The Tennessee Fire', well, I think I forgot that one. You know how it goes, you're so into some new albums you bought that the old ones kinda slip out of your mind.. One of those was the Leonard Cohen album. I don't think I'll like the live album better, however, 'cuz I'm usually not that thrilled by live albums. Plus, I so absolutely adore the last couple of minutes of 'Songs', with Leonard yelling like a drunk guy in the back... :)

About the Frusciante albums. I have three of his 2004 albums. Shadows collide with people has some great songs, but is a little too polished and over-arranged. The will to death is one of my favorite albums of this year. Then came the Ataxia record, wich I thought was, well, absolute crap. Some guys jamming in a garage, and for some reason (probably because they're famous and think everyhting they do is genius) they release it. I hate that album. And I hate it so much that it squashed my eagerness to hear the other albums. But I'll buy them someday, I guess.

By the way, if I'd make a new list today, I'd put either 'Six and six'  or 'Somebody in the snow' by Jandek in it... And the debut album by the fascinating Dutch artist Spinvis. And, yes, 'The Tennessee Fire'. :)

Try "Live Seeds" from Nick Cave, and his great dvd/video's like "Live at the Paradiso" or, anyway, "The Road to God knows where".

However, being a Cave-fan, I hardly can believe he has done anything wrong............................
