Now Greggy, come on.  We can't compete with a handsome devil like Viggo...not that I know what you look like (nor do you know what I look like...Riny seems to think I'm a mix between rivers cuomo and morrissey  ;D)

I think I can clear this up. Greggy looks a bit like Viggo, only sexier  ;)

Hello doctor, nice to have another female presence on the board. Viggo is divine in as Aragorn but as his regular self he is a little dull don't you think? The suits, the short hair, the lack of personality.

I just thought of someone else... the ultimate really: Mr.Vincent Gallo. That man knows how to dress.

What time is it where you all are. I just got up - it's 10.30am in Ireland.

hey, how did this currentlyplaying-thread turn into an imtoosexyformyshirt-thread?  ;D

elemenopee

You're absolutely right.

Back to the music.

This morning I'm back on The Stills.

Quotehey, how did this currentlyplaying-thread turn into an imtoosexyformyshirt-thread?

I dunno. It all started with the first warm summerbeams on our pale  white skin.

Guess seasons do affect people's mood and drifts.

But your right, back to the currently playing section.

For the moment elioth smith/figure 8.

She's lovely (who is she?).
I've got red hair too.

I love the Lost in Translation soundtrack. So good to hear Kevin Sheilds making new music. Do you love My Bloody Valentine? And the movie - so beautiful, so subtle, such a lovely pace.

I'm going to see Franz Ferdinand on Friday night. Do you guys disapprove? I saw them last year, supporting Interpol (what a dream night) and they were great even then. I'm just dreading all the band-wagonners that'll be there. I think I'm a bit too possessive about the bands I like. But I can't help it.

I just love music too much.

QuoteI just love music too much

There really isn't such a thing!  Music is the sweet salve for the soul that is totally unique to the individual...embrace it!  Being passionate about music is healthy and spiritually rewarding.

And that's Miranda Otto there...otherwise known as Eowyn in the Lord of the Rings trilogy...(insert gurgling sounds here ala Homer Simpson)

Music! It's there when you least expect it, it's not there when you really were expecting it, it's everything, it's unpredictable, it's impossible to say anything sane about it and yet we talk and talk about it, for what else is there to talk about? Music is like love but better and love is like music but better.

One song tears me down and pulls me up right now: 'Anywhere I lay my head' by Tom Waits.

"My head is a-spinning round,
my heart is in my shoes, yeah
I went and set the Thames on fire, oh,
now I must come back down
She's laughing in her sleeve boys,
I can feel it in my bones
Oh, but anywhere I'm gonna lay my head,
I'm gonna call my home

Well I see that the world is upside-down
Seems that my pockets were filled up with gold
And now the clouds, well they've covered over
And the wind is blowing cold
Well I don't need anybody,
because I learned, I learned to be alone
Well I said anywhere, anywhere, anywhere I lay my head, boys
Well I call my home"

And as for pictures... This is the one that does it for me:

Oh, my god, I'm turning into a depressed lonely guy drinking and smoking to Tom Waits and dreaming of Polly Jean... Where is it going to end?  ;)

O,

you poor boy - you sound very down. Sometimes you just have to go through those hard, bad times in your head to get to the other side. Where the sun is shining and things are better. Don't rush yourself.

Polly Jean is a woman worthy of your fantasies. It has to be said.
Another great woman is Karen O.
I love these lyrics of hers.

Baby im afraid of a lot of things
But i aint scared of loving you
Baby i know your afraid of a lot of things
But don't be scared of love
Cause people will say all kinds of things
That don't mean a damn to me
Cause all i see is what's in front of me
And thats you

Well, ive been dragged all over the place
Ive taken hits time just don't erase
And baby i can see you've been fucked with too
But that don't mean your loving days are through
Cause people will say all kinds of things
That don't mean a damn to me
Cause all i see is what's in front of me
And thats you

Well i may be just a fool
But i know we're just as cool
And cool kids...
they belong together

Hang in there O.

Man, it's warm and beautiful in kentucky today, quite a change from the snow we had earlier this week.  Time to break out some feel-good, warm weather music to cheer everyone up.  Today I sold a bunch of old cd's, and got Allman Bros. live at the Atlanta Int'l Pop Festival (1970).  I can't wait to hear it.

The new modest mouse really is fantastic.  O, it shows definite Tom Waits influences, if that's yer thing.

Other good sunshine cd's:
The Harder They Come soundtrack
Bill Monroe & Doc Watson
