Heh.  I was all: Wow what a great mix!  What the...

Thats pretty neat.   :)

corey

EC, you made it onto the mix.  :)

I've been listening to "A ghost is born" quite a bit as well. I also got "Being there" in the last week and it's great.

I have TONS of new music to listen to at some point this weekend.
EC sent several CDs to me that I've scanned through and I also got the live shows that were recorded for the Drive-By Truckers re-release CD parties...

If I ever make it through this crazy work schedule that I have going on, I am going to smoke a special cigarette, lie on my bed with my new headphones on, and listen to some Wilco.  And I also want to listen to the stuff that you sent to me, wiggs.

Regarding  "A Ghost is Born"

It's a great record.

However, did you know (and if it's been mentioned on the sight before please forgive me) that you can play A Ghost is Born while viewing the DVD of The Passion of the Christ and it plays like a sound track.  For example:  When Tweedy is saying "When the devil came, he was not red. He was chrooooome and he said", that's when the devil appears in the movie. There are numerous other examples. Just a freaky thing. Again, if this has been discussed, consider me late to the game.

Rock on!

PS - whoever discoverd this has entirely too much time on their hands.

You have no idea how curious I am to hear this song, now.  Every time I go to a damn record store, they don't have it, but they always promise they're gonna get it soon, because they can't keep the My Morning Jacket records in the store, they're just flying out of there.

Well maybe if you fucking bought more than one every three months...

(whoops, where did that come from?  :)  much better.)

Agreed, I really like the new Bright Eyes album.  It doesn't hurt that Jim sings on the best song of the record.  Although "Ode to Joy" is awesome as well.

Is Ode to Joy based off of the Schiller poem in Beethoven's 9th?  Has anyone ever read that?  I have an English translation kicking around.  Okay, that's the 2nd Beethoven's 9th reference in 24 hours.  I think I'm supposed to listen to that today.  I have a wicked version.

Um.  Yes.  Right now I am listening to CBC radio.

I have to agree with the new Bright Eyes album. Was never a big fan before, but after listening to "I'm  Wide Awake, its Morning" and seeing him perform on Austin City Limits,I've changed my feelings toward him.The new disc is pretty good and having Jim James and Emmy Lou Harris sing backup only enhances the songs quality.

WHAT?!  Emmylou sings backup WITH Jim James?

Have I entered Heaven and nobody told me?  Damn me that I didn't know this yesterday when I went to the MF record store (I'm trying not to say the full MF as much, because it's trashy).  Oh well.  Guess I'll have to go tomorrow.  :)

Well not exactly together. They both sing backup with Connor Oberst, but unfortunately not on the same songs.EmmyLou sings backup on three tunes while Jim sings on one.Sorry to disappoint you EC.It still is a very fine disc worth buying.

Heh.  I'm not disappointed.  I'm still gonna buy it.  It's probably better, because I might freak out too much, and nobody needs to see that!!

EC
