So, um, I'm just waiting for the computer to sift through my ridiculous (and truly, it is ridiculous) (or, some might say ricockulus hahahaha) number of posts to find my first one.

What was yours?

peanut butter puddin surprise

we lost the original messageboard due to complications back in the day, so I can't recall what my first post was.  Probably something like "dude, this band rawks" or some other banality.... ;)

This is my first Bonnaroo and I think this is the best line-up since 2003.

My Morning Jacket, The Mars Volta, That Black Crowes, and hopefully Kings of Leon and The Black Keys will be added.

In Nashville, Jim said that every move that the band was going to make had been carefully choreographed, and that they were sending us subliminal messages.

As John mentioned, the forum had a hiccup at one point and Riny had to reset the logs, thus all the old-timers here cannot find their first posts.

Coincidentally to your query, until about two weeks ago I did not realize you could search through all of your own postings.  But there is a bit of dialogue in the Elizabethtown trailer where Claire is telling drew how to pronounce Louisville.  She points out that the last syllable is pronounced VUL instead of VIL.

There was once a fairly involved thread in this forum about how to pronounce the town's name, and I posted a comment about how most non-locals can get the first two syllables right, but don't get VUL thing right.  The way Claire corrects Drew had me wondering if the director might not have read that post on this board.  This sent me to searching for that thread, but it must have been one of the lost threads, as I could not find it.

p.s.  My chiding you and John over who has the most posts goes back to the time that Riny had to restart the forum. John was already the leader by a wide margin, and he asked Riny to spot him 400 posts on his tally because he had at least that many before the server coughed them up.  And Riny gave them to him, too!  Now you know . . . the rest of the story.

THAT explains why it didn't show John's "first" post. I was very curious, so I went to look and it starts with a post about a "sticky", but it's only # 2000 and something. John's post count is above 3000. I thought something seemed out of whack.

my first post as aMillionDreams was that thread about the album of George Harrison covers that was recorded but never released.  I still wish I could get my hands on a copy of it!

I can't find mine. I'm sure it was just after my second MMJ show, so it must have been February 2004. I wrote in praise of the show. I remember singing along to Phone Went West with an ever so slighly drunk greggy. That's why I picked my username.

Here's mine, less than a month ago regarding Z on e-bay (doesn't time fly when you're having fun?!!)

Hey there! Long time lurker, first post - HUGE fan of the jacket! I've lived in Japan for over 6years now. Japanese like to have translated liner notes and band info etc in with their CDs. These cost a few more Yen than the regular releases & sometimes come out a week or two before the regular release with bonus tracks. For example, I picked up the new White Stripes a week before it's scheduled release date with 2 bonus tracks. Hope this helps!

God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

Recorded by MMJ?! I know nothing about this?! Please do tell aMillionDreams  :)

It was definately recorded by Jim, I'm not sure if it was a full band effort.  I heard from a VERY reliable source that he recorded a dozen or so George Harrison covers.  This was around the time of Harrison's death and releasing the disc was becoming complicated for whatever reason.  After I didn't hear about it for a while, I joined this forum to see if these fools had better info than me. No one else had ever heard of it and I got rapped up in this message board stuff, the rest is history of course.

Riny did reply to my post telling me that he was sure that it would pop up one of these days.

Thanks aMillionDreams - wouldn't that be the coolest thing?
All Things Must Past is my fav solo Beatles release.
The Tribute DVD is also very good.

Yeah, I thought it sounded pretty cool.  There is a version of Jim doing 'Behind That Locked Door' that was on a Darla comp years ago.  I think Jim could probably do George's songs better than George himself and he wrote some wonderful songs.  No one on the forum seemed interested in it.
Oh yeah, and at one point they were talking about releasing it in Canada just to get it out there.
That tribute concert was the greatest, I kept waiting for Jim to take the stage but no dice, too soon I guess.
I love when Tom Petty is talking about how George called augmented and diminished chords his "naughty chords".  All his songs have a naughty chords in them and that's what makes them his.

My 1st post:

 60   General / Off-Topic Ramblings / Anyone dig the band Rex?  on: Sep 20th, 2003, 1:04am
Anyone like the band Rex? or even have heard of them? If not I highly highly highly recommend them. They are, IMHO, the greatest band ever.  Well, them and MMJ. I guess they are 'labeled' slo-core music. But who needs labels? They play very beautiful music, I think most of you guys and gals would really dig. The suggest starting with either the full length album 'C', or 'The Waltz EP' , which, as the title suggests, is an album that has 4 songs, all recorded in the 3/4 time signature (a waltz beat). Sorry to be rambling on. This is actually my 1st post as a  member, though I have posted before. Anyone going the the Seattle show Oct.7? See you there.....
Peace
JoeBear

It figures my 1st post would be about Rex.  I'm a bit obsessive about them, it seems. :)
