What comes with the deluxe package and how much is it?
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

Sorry, Ground Control, I'll just pre-order this from Amazon.  Let's remember how long it takes them to ship stuff too.

On the jimjames website, I just noticed the creepy video of Jim that reminds me of the last seconds of The Blair Witch project - until it looks like he takes a phone call. I'm still haunted by those last seconds of that movie. Watch out, Jim!

Yes!  That`s incredibly creepy!  Is he talking on a cell phone or something?

I LOVED this song!  And I'm redonkulously stoked to hear the rest of the album. (Tho, I can't be the only one who has a mild allergic reaction to the "God" bit in the title, can I?)

Jim sounds like he's the kind of guy who keeps a notebook with scraps of stuff pasted in it, drawings, notes to himself, bits of lyrics, photos, etc. You know that kind of notebook? This song sounds like it's a bit like one of those kinds of notebook pages, but in aural form.

I love that he takes a handful of this sort of music, a handful of that, recreated samples of another kind and stitches them together in overlapping layers to make something new. I find those sounds so exciting. It's like collage for the ears (and the the heart and the soul). Or a pair of your favourite jeans that have been patched so many times, with so many wonderful and different coloured bits of fabric, that they really aren't jeans anymore, more a piece of art.
Babe, let's get one thing clear, there's much more stardust when you're near.

QuoteJames plays every instrument and engineered the album himself. It was inspired primarily by Lynd Ward's 1929 graphic novel God's Man, which "chronicles an artist's struggles with temptation and corruption, along with finding true love," according to a press release. "Some of the things happening in the book were happening to me in real life, in a very strange and painful, then a very beautiful way," James said in a press release.

"I wanted the album to sound like it came from a different place in time. Perhaps sounding as if it were the past of the future, if that makes any sense—like a hazy dream that a fully-realized android or humanoid capable of thought might have when it reminisces about the good old days of just being a simple robot."

I can live with that. I'm not going with the deluxe package anyway unless we get five minutes in the closet with Jim, $100 including shipping is just redonkulous.

I'd happily pay twice that much for that package!

Bwahahahahahah!

after i ordered it looks like the lithograph and the other stuff are being shipped separately...guess two shipments are the reason bc all of that stuff can be put in a smaller box...the shirt and tote can be folded down so no reason for it to be in much bigger than a record box...must be taking real care of that litho...

Looking forward to this. Been waiting a long time for some Jim James solo action

Went with the limited LP package...digging the new song!

The single/song is awesome. Not what I expected and really loving it.

You NEVER know what to expect from Jim.  Just listened to it and I am pleasantly surprised.  Sometimes he can get a little too "out there" for my taste, but this was funky and fun.  I dig it.  Can't wait for more...
Give me a butt load of reverb on this one - just pile it on.

e_wind

isn´t there a story behind that shirt and this forum?
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...
