Nope. It was patented in 1956 by Bette Nesmith and Mike inherited the empire when his mother died. That's why he never felt the urge to tour with The Monkees - he didn't need the money.

Saw the Burning Brides open for the Jacket back in 2003

one of the louder and more rocking shows I have ever seen. Too bad the crowd was lame...
