This may have been posted somewhere already, but i figured i'd rehash this one.

The other night, well...morning...i was coming out of sleep. and i always dream like crazy after the sun comes up. i hate it, because it means i lose sleep, but i have had some very interesting dreams as of late.

anyways, i had bought my tickets for the Rites of Spring festival on friday, and this dream happened either saturday or sunday. so where it starts is i'm walking into this giant theatre from a side door, and i see two people waving to me, but i don't know who they are. thought it might have been Brian or Tracy, but it was the wrong-looking people, so i just keep walking looking for a seat.

All the while, miss Meg Hamilton is playing some lovely music up at the front. she's plugged in, but on the floor in front of the stage, and there's two security guards on her left and right about five feet to either direction. the one on the left is Jim, with his hair pulled back (it was magically long again at this moment) and he's wearing his huge aviator shades.

so i get my seat and the stage clears and i'm watching, as no one else seems to notice as the guys come up to the stage and i see a banjo getting passed around and get really excited thinking that "Tonight I Wanna Celebrate With You" is going to be played. Anyways, I all of a sudden hear a ver familiar riff, and there's three characters lined up at the front of the stage Jim on the right, Carl (i think) on the left, and maybe Bo (but possibly somebody else who doesn't belong up there, i just didn't make note of it in the dream) and I realize that this very familiar riff is in fact the Immigrant Song. And Jim starts bangin out these chords on his banjo and wailing the lead vocal "ahhhh-ahhhh-ahhhhhhh-ahh!" and I start losing it and wake up because I'm so excited.

so i thought that was pretty cool.

i also had a dream the other week that the guys scheduled a show and invited all of us on the board who play music to open with a song or two for them. i woke up pretty excited from that one, too...and (in somewhat of a daze) thought I ought to check the message board. however, i fell back asleep before motivation got the better of me.

Anybody else got some cool ones?
The river is moving. The blackbird must be flying.

I've had a couple of MMJ Dreams.
The one I remember the clearest is Jim playing a solo acoustic show at my fav bar here in Japan. The rest of the guys were sat with me on bar-stools enjoying the show.
I told this to my wife the next day & the first thing she asked was "& was I there?"
I lied & said Yes  ;)
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

tom you have the most vivid dreams!!

i've only had the one, which was just me sitting watching a new mmj video on tv - it was new (jim had short hair) but it was for a really old song (off tennessee fire i think). it was just jim sitting there looking into the camera, singing away... rather nice!!!  :)
love a song for the way it makes you feel

peanut butter puddin surprise

in my dream, the phone rings and this voice tells me to go to the railroad tracks close to my house.  i wander over there in the middle of the night, and the train is stopped on the tracks.  a boxcar is open, and I hear music coming from it.  When I approach, it's the boys jamming out full electric in this boxcar!  I get in, the door closes, and the train starts moving...needless to say, they suddenly break into "Train, Train" by Blackfoot....
Runnin' from somethin' that isn't there

I didn't have an MMJ dream, per se...but Jim would've been proud of me.  Shannon Hoon came to me in my dreams...and he was singing all of these songs that he had never sung before. And there was all these previously art and photography prints from the band.  It was really cool.

It has been a few months since I have had this dream, but from what I can remember, JJ, Patrick, Tommy and I are all on a bus together(all of us are about 10 years old in my dream for some odd reason) with a bunch of other kids.  It is evident that we are on a field trip from school of sorts.  JJ has his distinct long curly hair, even at age 10, but no beard.  It was a sorta odd dream.
I wonder why we listen to poets when nobody gives a fuck

I just woke from a dream where I got into a show with the sweep of a crowd, but when it came down to showtime I was getting kicked out because I couldn't find my rightfully purchased front row ticket.  Christine was graciously handing me black licorice as a consolation, saying "we take care of own, but you're getting kicked out.  Take these."

What a gal!
My jacket's gonna be cut slim and checked

I had a jacket dream last night (probably due to the upcoming tour).  Jim was a father figure and spinning me in the air and tossing me around.  Shit was weird, but I liked it.

I somehow ended up on the plane with the band coming back from Mexico, except it isn't a jet, it's an old Lockheed Constellation, and you can guess who is piloting the thing. Well, I'm in the third seat, navigating, of course. The whole band was in the cockpit actually, but hey, it's a dream. Anywho, we begin our descent, and it's a rapid one, and before long we're flying between the tall buildings of Kansas City, despite my objections, and Jim's doing a hell of a job with the Connie, making like Han Solo dodging asteroids in the Falcon. I spot the runway of the old downtown airport there, I talk us in on the slope indicator, and JJ lands easy and we all pile out laughing like loons. Then this dream ends just like all the others: I sit in with them for a set on the saxophone (dueling with Carl on Dondante, natch) and am asked to become a permanent member of the band. I politely decline.

Can you actually play the saxophone in the waking world, or is that just the way it ended up in the dream? (I used to play trumpet back in the high school band.)

I can play the saxophone! However, as opposed to actual musicians, I can't play by ear, I require sheet music.
