The pats look tough but they struggled a bit with the brownies. I'd say it's WAY too early for 16-0 talk.  And the Colts also look fantastic but you've got to wonder when all these injuries are going to catch up with them.  Hopefully my bengals will get healthy coming off the bye and roll over KC.

The bright spot coming out of the Browns game was that even during a sloppy game thay can still handily win a game.  They better fill up on humble pie before the Dallas game next week

That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

how many times has a team been able to have 5 turnovers or more and still win?, and now it happens twice in the same year and in the same week!?!

football is strange so far this year, methinks.

is it me, or does there seem to be loads more injuries this year?  concussions, minor injuries, season-ending injuries, etc seem to happen on almost every play.

corey

I think you're right about the injuries. It's kinda fucked up.

How 'bout them Cowboys? That was pretty awesome. I saw the very end of the 3rd quarter through the last quarter. I was so pissed at Romo... then he managed to get them back in the game. Very strange game, but it was awesome to watch.

I really hate that fucking time-out rule. I mean, I can see the strategy in it and all that, but that doesn't make it any less fucked up.

i definitely think you're right about injuries.  I think that the NFL needs to expand its roster so that they can carry replacements and stop forcing good players into early retirement. the bengals currently have two healthy LBs under contract, that's crazy!  Most teams have gone to using two RBs unless they are a pass heavy team like the Colts or the Bengals, but the league has not added another spot on the roster to accommodate this trend.  I think that each NFL team should have at least two more roster spots as well as practice squads.  just my two cents.

I fell asleep during MNF  :-/  sucks too because it sounds like it was a good one.  how in the world did romo have six turnovers and win the game?

I imagine there are going to be some not so exciting changes in the near future for the NFL.  All the players are getting bigger, stronger and faster and it's only going to continue.  I think rather that expanding roster space they will be more focused on reducing injuries.  I'm not sure how you do that though.  I would imagine it starts with even more steroid testing but thats not necessarily the cause of it.  With every team trying to gain an edge there is  more focus on biomechanics and the new training programs players are put through.  It will be interesting to see what happens.

Tony Romo looked like a young Brett Farve.

I turned it off after Owens dropped the 2-pt conversion.  Read the paper at lunch and was like, WTF?
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

better equipment might help.  there's some out there that doesn't get widely used for whatever reason.  i just think that if they expand the rosters then players wouldn't have as much accumulated damage. It wouldn't help all the injuries, but it might help.

I don't like the Cowboys, but I HATE the Patriots (sorry MMJfan).

Ever since the '04 Superbowl, they have really left a bad taste in my mouth.

So, GO COWBOYS!!!

aMD

I always liked the Patroits because they always seemed to be about winning, intelligence, and class.  With information about this cheating scandal scandal the last two qualities I attributed to them have been called into question.

I've been a Moss fan since he was in high school (played twenty minutes from my high school) but I'm pulling for the 'boys even though I wish they had moss instead of TO.

primushead

Yeah, I have nothing but respect for Moss, and though I hate to admit it, Tom Brady is one of the best QB's of our time.

T.O.?  He's an incredible athelete.  But the ego is what I can't stand, especially since he drops more balls than a scientist measuring the time it takes for a ball to fall to the ground...yeah, bad analogy, but I had to think of it on the go.

primushead

Woo!! What a sack on Brady and a return TD!!! Good game so far.

Final:
Patriots 48
CCCCowboys 27

One other team left in the zero L category 8-)

The wheels are starting to come off in Cincinnati and it sucks.  I'm starting to think we may need a new coach to come in and change the atmosphere.  Maybe someone who understands that our defense is in shambles as is our O-line.  We're such an emotional team that if one thing bad happens it affects the rest of the game more than it should which in turn affects our entire season.  If we can get on a good role and build momentum we may have some chance of turning things around, but I just don't see how that's going to happen.  One fellow Bengal fan said to me yesterday that he's going to start rooting for the other team so we can get a high draft pick. I think it's a little early for that and I hope it doesn't come to that.
