Moratorium on slamming noob questions

OK< I'll be the first to admit I can be one of the biggest assholes here, by I am proposing a moratorium on slamming noobs for their obvious questions (opening music, origin of name, that little thing Jim plays). I have given this a lot of thought (40 days in the desert) and just don't think it's cool anymore.

I repeat, I'll be the first to admit I can be one of the biggest assholes here

As for those of you who already know me (and either loathe or love me) I will still be lobbing crazy statements that make little or no sense in your general direction(s).

OK? OK!

I am with you.  I have been guilty as well in the past and it is uncalled for.   I can't wait to discuss the finer details of moondog from here on out!
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

Huh? I had to read that three times to make sure it said what I thought it said.  We've fought about this a lot in the past.  I'm glad you finally see the light.  :)

While I support the idea of people coming in and starting conversations about things that interest them, I also think people should try to be self-sufficient. There *IS* a search button. All you have to do is type in "intro" or "Before show" and all the "Moondog" threads pop up.

Do I have to click on the new threads and post exploding heads? No, of course not, but it's fun and I'm not calling the posters idiots, I'm just being a smart ass. Most of the OPs of those threads get the joke, and join in the discussion.

If y'all think it's truly disrespectful and uncalled for, I'll stop doing it. I'll post my exploding heads somewhere else.

Being new to a forum is kinda like trying to find the silverware drawer at someone else's house.

Now that we've got that out of the way I was wondering how old the band members are,if they're single, and what their favorite foods are? ;D

Evey: Are you, like, a crazy person?
V: I am quite sure they will say so.

Quid pro quo, Tracy...I'll quit fueling the fire on the inside jokes if you'll quit posting that damn picture. It really freaks me out, man.  ;D

Furthermore, we really need a sticky FAQ thread.

Using the SEARCH function, I found a thread where this was previously discussed, albeit briefly.

FWIW, I don't think we were slamming noobs in the FAQ thread. I didn't call anybody out and no one got called any names or anything.

Word?

What would yall talk about if there weren't noobs to bring up old discussions again?  The color of Jim's undies?

Its not so much the bringing up old discussions, its the ongoing wave of threads that are all asking the same questions.  Then there's the people who come here just raising hell for no good reason.  Those people should be chased out or at least put straight, Full Metal Jacket style.

why does it bother people when the same questions pop up every once in a while? unless it gets really really crazy it just doesn't bother me. how many 'intro music' threads really popped up this month? 3 or 4? just doesn't seem something to get worked up about. next time somebody asks about the intro music don't pull out your hairs but grab the opportunity to start a discussion about the extraordinary life of moondog.

who cares what they "should do"...
When asked the question, what is that thing Jim plays, it's much easier just to type in "Omnicord" rather than "use the fucking search button".
God damn those shaky knees.

I just think it's cool when people figure shit out for themselves--especially when the answer is readily available.

Coming in and asking questions that have been asked many times previously without looking for the answer seems a bit lazy.
