QuoteCarson would be much higher on everyone's list if he had Eli's O-line, here's my list:

1) Peyton Manning
2) Tom Brady
3) Ben Rothlisberger
4) Carson Palmer
5) Drew Brees
6) Phillip Rivers
7) Eli Manning
8) Aaron Rodgers
9) Donovan McNabb
10) Tony Romo

aMD, you ARE da MAN

The only players not on both of our lists are Jay Cutler and Aaron Rodgers. I liked too much of what Ive seen of Cutler to leave him off, and Rodgers is just about there

These fools ripping me for Carson Palmer are hilarious and the point you brought up is 1 of the biggest reasons why (him and Roethlisberger should start talking i think  ;))

It appears great football minds think alike

QuoteBrees is having a great year on paper, but the Saints could be playing better.
I haven't looked at Eli's numbers, but the Giants have a good record.

So which is better? The guy with better numbers or the guy leading his team to wins?

I think if you ask Brees he would rather be 6-1.

So its official. Eli Manning is better than Brees bc he has a better supporting cast and defense  ;D ;D

Honestly you lost all credibilty...I'm the biggest Pats hater there is...let me say it again 18-1....but only a complete idiot would say Ben is better than Brady unless you have been sleeping for the last 7 years or so.

Eli is having a great year....he is doing exactly what he needs to do for him team to win.  He doesn't need to throw 4 TD's a game like Brees.

Seriously have you seen Brady play?  Your statement about Ben getting out of the pocket is hilarious.  He gets sacked more than anyone and if you turned on ESPN or any other sports station this week you would hear the same thing...all they have been talking about is how Ben holds on to the ball too long.

and to leave Farve off that list....haha.

I guess Im a complete idiot for thinking Roeth is a slightly better QB than Brady. When you have a brick wall for a offensive line and video cameras, most of the QBs in the Top 10 can look about that good

I guess your blinders on Roeth are more than I thought too bc Roethlisberger doesnt need to throw 4 TDs a game either for his team to win. Just to remind you, you played us with our 3rd string RB too

Roethlisberger is the best QB in the NFL at making plays when nothing is there. The pathetic OLine we have is why he gets sacked like ham sandwiches for a 2nd grader, but you know less about football than my mom if you blame Ben for getting sacked with 2 seconds to make a play. While he should throw the ball away more often, as a NYG fan you really dont understand how important an offensive line is apparently

And I think its laughable 2 people now have said Favre is a Top 10 QB in 2008. Hes got 2 pro bowl caliber WRs and hes still not Top 10

2 seconds to make a play?? you obviously did not watch the game sunday....he wanders around the pocket until it collapses.  All your excuses about O line and this and that....bottom line the Giants don't have a single Probowl Offensive lineman.  You are all excuses, we beat you with your 3rd string RB? We beat you with our best WR benched...big deal.  Bottom line is Eli made the plays when he had to, didn't make mistakes.  Ben threw 4 int's and had plenty of times when he should've thrown the ball away or made a play.  Oh and Eli faced one of the best defenses in football, you should know if you are a Pitts fan.

and first of all you said you list was not based just on this year...in fact you said this year did not count that much...to say Farve is not a top 10 QB in the last few years or forever for that matter is a joke.  He took his team the NFC championship last year.  You are going to put Jay Cutler and Palmer ahead of Farve? get a reality check.

AMightyCaporal

Chad Pennington anyone? Yes please!  He may not have Farve's arm strength but he also doesn't have Farve's decision making skills either  ;)

GO DOLPHINS! Give em some credit- the beat 3 pretty good teams, I'm not saying that they are the Titans- but they certainly aren't last years team-  Anyone think they can make it into the playoffs?
Oh I'll never say I knew you, but my heart can't wait to meet you on the other side

I dont think all of them would throw 50 TDs (and before last yr, I believe Brady's high was 28), but any of those QBs have enough ability for them to have their maximum effectiveness for their skill sets behind a line like NE's.

Eli Manning is a great example of this because that OLine is just as good in all liklihood as NE's. And its just like it, no pro bowlers, but a group that has played together for multiple years and has not had injuries and as a unit are great.

As for Favre, if I was strictly going on numbers, yes, he would be in the top 10. When I said I was going by previous numbers, I didnt mean stuff from 1996 but more performance over the last 5 years or so. In retrospect, I think I favored Favre's current play a bit much bc he isnt 1 of the 10 best QBs anymore, but his play over the last few years was probably good enough for the bottom half of the top 10.

That's not a bad list. I'm only wondering where Marino, Young, Elway, and P. Manning fit into the picture.
Evey: Are you, like, a crazy person?
V: I am quite sure they will say so.

No way Favre is on my top ten all-time list.  Sure he can make remarkable plays but they are in between dumb decisions that lead to big interceptions. That is a reason he's only won one Super Bowl and that Green Bay didn't want him back.  Remember the AFC Championship in Lambeau and the old man couldn't cut it?  I seem to remember it ending with a dumb interception.  I'm glad he's hearing the boo birds in NY!  No man deserves that much ass kissed!

I'd have to think about my all-time list...

I don't remember Farve ever playing in the AFC until this year.

Farve is in my top 10 ever.  I just love the way he plays the game and there is no denying how great a QB he was and the fact that he is still playing at this level is incredible.  Not to mention being the toughest QB ever.  Most QB's are lucky to win one Superbowl, just ask Dan Marino.

I guess you never saw Archie Manning play football. All the experts say he was an All-Pro QB on a Non-Pro team (the Aints).

Im familiar with those thoughts, but still, were talking about Top 10 alltime

That exact reasoning is why Carson Palmer is still in my current Top 10 QBs in the league, which you called bogus

Me leaving Favre off my current Top 10>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Putting Archie on an alltime Top 10

Nice list Tracy, but I'd add Warren Moon too. His best years were arguably, came when he played for Edmonton in the CFL when the league wasn't considered 2nd tier.

Literally,  ;D ;D ;D at that

I think Brett Favre is the white Warren Moon. They played for so long, theyre bound to have HOF type numbers

Both are def very good QBs, but still.....

I agree with that, I was a big Moon fan even when he was at Washington and they beat Michigan in the Rose Bowl.

but he's no Jay Cutler...

bold99

Is Pittsburg going to beat the Redskins this week?  As a Giants fan I hope so.
