Ok, taking a risk here, but one of the most memorable for me:

Summer of Sam --- Baba O'Riley

Also, maybe cheesy, BUT:

Bend it Like Beckham -- Move on Up  (and now even more so since NYE)

Shane Meadows has used some excellent music in his movies; A Room For Romeo Brass opens with A Message For You Rudy by the Specials, Dead Man's Shoes with A Vessel In Vain by Smog & This Is England with 54-46 by Toots & The Maytals:

Good call! I love the way Lee used Won't Get Fooled Again too in the same movie.

A Change is Gonna Come in Malcolm X is another great use of music.

Summer Of Sam, Do The Right Thing, Mo Better, Crooklyn, Clockers etc all have excellent sountracks & Lee uses the music to great effect in many scenes. Might have to watch a Spike Lee movie tonight...
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

I haven't posted in here yet because honestly, there are so many great movie-music moments I cant reminder all of them that Ive seen or that registered like that when I heard them.

Good call on the Teenage Wasteland tbd (and I love Summer of Sam as well). Maybe I am just misremembering, but was that song in numerous scenes or not in that movie?!

You cant make a post like that without me coming back doing something like this though dB

..The Wes Anderson mention instantly made me think of this song/scene from Darjeeling Limited though

I need more mind-jarring  :D
The thing is, Bob, it's not that I'm lazy, it's that I just don't care. - Peter Gibbons

Hmmm I'd have to agree with Harry Nillsson "Jump Into The Fire" in Goodfellas... excellent.

I'm just gonna throw out...

- Opening of Quentin Tarantino's "Jackie Brown", Bobby Womack's "Across 100th Street".
- The ending of "Into The Wild" w/ Ed Vedder's take on "Hard Sun" to close.
- Afghan Whigs "Can't Get Enough Of Your Love" from "Beautiful Girls"

And for me... and this might appear odd... but Johan Strauss, "The Blue Danube", opening sequence of 2001 Space Odyssey... chills every time.

OMG -- Cant Get Enough of Your Love by Afghan Whigs was my WEDDING SONG!  I love that someone else recognizes how great that was!  (and can't believe i forgot to put it in my top moments)!
;D ;D ;D

You can't talk about Beautiful Girls without mentioning Satchel's Suffering (the ice skating scene)

Dragonboy my friend I'm just glad you mentioned Satchel at all!!!  They only have 2 albums but they are both fantastic.  Shawn Smith can do NO wrong.

You're right about that though.  And tdb810... you know you gotta love all things Dulli!!!  ;D

Yeah SS should be a household name - white boy got soul!  ;)

Nothing to do with any movie, simply putting it out there for the folks who don't know...

SO many memories.  I destroyed my copy of Shame and Satchel's EDC album CDs in College.  Brings back some great, great times.

Many years ago my friends and I went to see Brad play at what was Tramp's in NYC and we ran into Shawn Smith outside and we brought him into the bar and bought him shots.  It was a great great moment for me.  Such a cool guy.
Went last year to see Brad play the Highline Ballroom in NYC, stood front row center... fucking incredible.  At the end of the show Stone Gossard gave me his guitar pick (with Pearl Jam inscribed on it).  I have that pick and play my guitar with it today.

Love, love, love Shawn's voice.  Buttercup by Brad - one of my favorite songs ever.

Toots & the Maytals - Louie Louie

Does an great job of showing how being a Skinhead originally meant being part of a movement, following a style of fashion & music and was originally nothing to do with violence & neo-nazis (the calm before the storm, as those who have seen the film will know)

So somebody got punched, right? I'm not condoning violence or anything but no Satchel?!! Did you edugemukate the folks about Shawn Smith? (I'm sure you did....right after you punched them!)  ;)

Violence is never the answer....
