I'd love to see any photos you all might have or feel like taking of these collections. I'll take a couple of pics pre & post tidy this week...
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

I took a couple of quick pics of my record collection, and the few CDs I located and organized.  I've just started collecting vinyl last year. I have pics of ALL my records up on Facebook, but it's been a while since I've done that and my collection has grown a bit since....

A bunch of CDs are in my car, or in random other places, which is why it seems like I have NO cds.....

Oh, and I took these with my cell phone, so the quality sucks... and for some reason they're freaking huge.... i'll fix that
I NEEDED IT MOST WHENEVER tbh

Great pics, thanks for putting them up FC!  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

I would love to have a vinyl collection...

Beautiful K! One thing's for sure, you're a heck of a lot tidier than I am  ;D

QuoteI switched to completely digital a few years ago.  My music is organized on an external hard drive alphabetically by artist and within those folders the artists' music is ordered chronologically by release date.  All my CDs find a home in a storage box in my garage.

you don't text but you do digital music?!?!

Why is that so unbelievable?  The first time I heard about an mp3 was 15 years ago.  Texting more like 3 years ago.  I do digital music out of convenience.  I can't hold on to a CD without scratching it or losing it.  And I could never satisfy my OCD like K has with endless shelves of plastic CD cases.  My music file is a beautiful thing though.  It is better organized than a wall of shelves could ever be, it is much smaller, and it won't scratch and become unplayable after 2 listens, I don't know why more people don't go digital.

I do have a decent vinyl collection and burn CDs to listen to in my truck but I try not to mess with CDs.

QuoteSeriously, how can you go wrong with that movie while reorganizing your discs. You can't.
Picked this up from the rental store today. Am about to watch it again now for inspiration & plan on sorting my CDs tomorrow...

I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

I'm with Dylan on this. Went Digital and glad I did. Just don't have the space plus like K, my OCD would kick in. It's bad enough being just shy of being like Monk and have a 10 and a 6 year old. If I had more stuff out, I'd never leave the house.

DB and K- Nice!

Tracy- ummm can I move in?!?! Between you and Teo, I'm getting the urge to create my own man cave besides my music room.

QuoteI'm about to delve in King Crimson for the 1st time. I have In The Court Of...In The Wake Of...Larks Tongues & Red all on order. Good place to start?

All I can say is that they are a band that takes a lot of work to figure out, both musically and thematically let alone their ridiculous turnover.  It's like a sports team, all that remains is the name. ;D

I think those 4 will be just fine.  If you're not familiar (I have trouble thinking you're not DB), they are all over the place musically and many times, I feel like their albums really don't have any flow.

I would go chronologically...Crimson, Poseidon, etc.

As a 60's free jazz/avante garde fan, I didn't like some of the free form jazzy stuff on Crimson but then tracks 1, 2, 5 are sweet.  Plus, as a fantasy RPG dork, I love flute (synth or real) that puts me in some medieval forest.  That is where early KC separates itself (to me) from the prog to follow which always had a much stronger sci fi aspect to it.

Happy listening.  I think they take more than one listen
