Any gamers?

We got Skyrim for our 15 year old this Christmas and lo and behold if I didn't get absolutely ADDICTED to it (as LD can sadly attest to!).  There are so many places to go in that game, it amazes me.

  Skyrim is a true masterpiece.  I'm currently working my way through Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning on PS3 and it is excellent!  It's another open ended RPG very similar to Skyrim from the character development to looting to infinite questing.  I've logged about 100 hours and am about 2/3 of the way through or maybe more.  Sadly it didn't receive the critical acclaim that Skyrim did but I find the combat to be much more enjoyable.  Just no friggin dragons and that's a problem...because there are no friggin' dragons.

So if anyone is looking for a highly comparable experience to Skyrim, I recommend it.

no friggin' dragons :undecided:

Hmmm, sounds like I'd better include some dragons in the game I'm working on: Caliphates of Zorjizzidor: The Forskinnening.

I played Dungeons and Dragons in junior high (I know, I should probably just keep that information to myself), so Skyrim is right up my alley.  At least I don't have to hang out with nerdy pimply dorks in order to play!  Ruckus, I think LD would kill me with a withering gaze if I picked up another video game like Skyrim (but I'll keep it in mind!)

I'm currently working my way through Batman: Arkham Asylum right now. It's not a bad game so far.

I went to Best Buy today intending to get Skyrim, but since they still want $50 for it, I got the Masters edition of Tiger Woods '13, which I'm guessing is about 3 years old in keeping with typical video game anniversarial nomenclature. It works with the Kinect thingy, so I imagine that my TV will soon have a 9-iron poking through it.

I used to be totally into iRacing but haven't had the time lately...

I used to race NR2003 a ton but that died off when I moved to my shitty aptartment. Recently the itch came back and I just started iRacing 2 weeks ago. Got promoted to D and am trying to find the time to build up to a C license before the next promotion date. That ear-x-tacy truck is niiiice. I don't feel like I'm good enough to put 'sponsors' on my cars yet. I am also playing on an oldish laptop with the graphics turned down a bit and with a terrible wheel/pedals set up. I'll be moving into my own place soon and then I'll get really serious.

Ha awesome, I played NR03 a lot, too,  I still have an active iRacing subscription, i may hop on and hope to see you on there.
I NEEDED IT MOST WHENEVER tbh

I would do this, but I  don't have a wheel or pedals, and am afraid of addiction. I went through a bout of dependency on GPL back in the 90s/00s, even with just a joystick. I think I've driven the Nurburgring more times than anybody ever has in real life.

I've been looking for a fun board game for our family. After careful research - meani g I've read about it twice and heard others discuss the game, I've just bought Settlers of Catan. We are going to sit down later today and try to play.

Any Halo players out there? I started playing halo 1 (played it religiously for years with friends) and now play halo 4.  Also I recently started playing skyrim, which is extremely dangerous for gamers.  Very addictive. Very awesome.

Anyone trying to play halo add me on xbox live MurksBentley

GPL was the best. For a while that was the only game I could get my computer to run in around 2000.  They eventually used that engine for NASCAR 4 - 2003, and that pretty much evolved into iRacing.

It's so tough to find a time to do iRacing now.  When I was part-time i'd race till 2am and whatnot, but races take over an hour in the truck series, even longer in the Nationwide and Cup series. Plus the time it takes to tweak setups, test and practice! I started getting into Sportscars before I stopped, because I reached an A class in the ovals, and i'm barely a D on Road. Bought the Mustang and a few tracks. Adds up quickly...

I was super into Halo 4 a few months ago but haven't touched it since January.  Played it since the 1st one.

The Halo series including the OSDT and Wars side games are awesome, my favorite 1st person shooter of all time.

The elder scrolls series is awesome if you are into RPGs, you can get really lost into them.  But that is the way good RPGs are.

I have always been into Madden, NCAA football, and the different MLB games throughout the years as well.

I too fell victim to Skyrim's evil clutches  . Once I finished that I stayed away from games until just yesterday. I just started messing around with Far Cry 3 which is pretty cool. I play strictly on consoles because I have no idea how to tell if my PC is up to task.

In a perfect world, the PS4/720 launches at the end of the year with Fallout 4 alongside it.  :cheesy:

Just hooked up my G27 and ran a few laps on iRacing... I definitely need to get more practice in... Kinda sad the Street Stocks are now only Rookie to D.

Yeah, I started playing Skyrim over the last couple months.  I haven't been addicted to a game in a long time.  I'm up past level 20 now.  I can easily put an hour or two into it every night.  The detail is pretty amazing to me.  I love me some Lydia.

Street Stocks races were such a mess for me. I was a total noob but compared to the others on track I was like Jeff Gordon. Managed to get a win when the top 3 guys all crashed and I didn't. When I graduated to D I bought the K&N series car (whatever they call it) and practiced at Thompson for a while. That track is fun alone, but racing is another thing. I thought there would be more D and C licenses in the race, but it was almost entirely guys with A licenses. I finished in 10th, 2 laps down with a damaged car. Definitely need more practice (TIME) in that car.

Is that the Late Model? That's a blast, too. I wanted to get back into the Street Stocks because I kinda just wanted to work my way back up to trucks.  I may start with the Late Models next, or do more road racing.

It wasn't the late mod. The next one up from that. I should probably spend some time in the late mod tho. Was trying to save money by just skipping up.

I had an awful street stocks race last night. I got rammed TWICE on the pace laps and then taken out TWICE during the race. Lost a shit ton of rating points or whatever. I am never doing street stocks again. Too many dummies.

Ahh I didn't know they still ran that car, That used to be the old Nationwide car, good to see it's still running, those were fun!

I just found out there's a C-class and higher street stock series. I may jump into that before I go into Trucks.
