I'm nutso for LOST. Anyone who hasnt went back and rewatched season 1 or 2 on DVD should. So much stuff I picked up that I missed the first time around. The thing about Ben shooting Lock is that after he shot him and he fell in the mass grave, he then pointed the gun at Lock again threatening to shoot him if he didn't tell him what Jacob said. It appeared to be a mortal gunshot wound. Why threaten another gunshot? I dont think we have seen the last of Lock. I also heard we are gonna get three more seasons of 16 episodes each. The short seasons kinda blow, but atleast they aren't gonna drag it forever and the writers now have a time table to fit in everything they want to.

there are several theories about who jacob really is.

some think that he is the mysterious Alvar Hanso, the person who started the Hanso Foundation, which in turn created the Dharma Initiative.

others (not the island "Others") think Jacob is the monster and that Ben is keeping him/it trapped in the shed (remember the ring of salt/gunpowder/substance around the shed?).  however, this seems difficult to come up with b/c the monster obviously has been out around the island lately.  if it is the monster and it is trapped then Ben recently trapped it.  i think this theory is hard to buy.

even so...whatever or whomever Jacob is, it seems the Ben is keeping him/it captive, right?  why else would he ask Locke to help him?  also, the substance forming a ring around the shed is either to keep things out or to keep Jacob in!

thoughts???  seriously...check this out.  some wild theories!
