QuoteNo Reservations with Anthony Bourdain on the Travel Channel is the best thing on t.v. right now.  I keep harping on this, but nobody wants to listen.  No show on the tube does a better job contrasting disgusting displays of wealth with disgusting displays of poverty - last night's Sao Paulo episode is a perfect example.  And it's all done through food with a healthy dose of smart ass commentary.  They're re-showing the Lebanon episode this Sunday from last year that was being filmed just as the shit hit the fan - compelling stuff.

thanks for the suggestion.  i'll check that out.

Go out and rent or Season I and II of Rome. Fantastic TV.

Kitchen Confidential is one of my favorite books ever.  Anyone who's toiled in restaurants for years knows all of those people.  Attractive?  Well, I guess years of binge drinking, chain smoking, and hard-core drug abuse have had a positive effect on Mr. Bourdain for some of us.
I'm not saying it's easy...walking into sweet oblivion.

this was a great episode. my favorite moment was when anthony took his friend to that chili place. the friend did not want to eat the chili/noodles combo, but anthony said, "the bottom line is: you would love this if you were stoned."

I find the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame to be disturbing.  Marky Ramone pointing to a glass case full of sanitized Ramone Memorabilia?

the first episode of the new season was a bit of a let down.  nothing was resolved, at all.  that's my only complaint with the show, you never feel satisfied.

Got South Park Season 10 in the post yesterday!!!  :D
