QuoteDoes anyone watch Dexter?

I just saw episodes 1,2,3 from Season One and am immediately hooked!  Can't wait to watch another episode tonite.  The Wii/Netfliz thing is fantastic!!

Oops...gotta go  "Im not There" is on HBO  right now....and Guess whose voice just popped out of my TV???????????  ooooooooh shivers.

Dexter is up there as one of the best tv series as of late for sure.  I loved season 1-3 but season 4 is biblical. What day is the season 5 premiere, it's soon isn't it? I'm really pumped for season two of Bored to Death & Eastbound and Down.  it's going to be a hilarious fall tv time.

New seasons of Dexter and Bored to Death air on Sunday. Check your local listings.
Next to the Wire, Dexter is probably my favorite Drama/Thriller TV series of all time.  I know people loved the Lithgow season but 1 is still my favorite followed by 4 then 2.  Season 3 with Jimmy Smits was relatively forgettable.  I no longer get Showtime so I'll just have to wait and not peak in here. :)

Finished this weeks episode of Parenthood last evening and just not enough Craig T. for me. Prolly cause he was pretty much featured last week. Yeah, TDB you gots to watch that first season to gets the background on all of the peeps...I needs to figure out which one you think is a hottie? Maybe Dax?

I gave Shit My Dad Says and Outsourced some drunk viewings last night. SMDS had its moments, but the acting was so bad it almost felt uncomfortable, and a lot of the jokes felt forced and not as funny as they should be. Not all that good, but might give it a few more chances.

Outsourced was pretty bad. Couple laughs, mostly sucked

I thought Season II was the weakest; it certainly made you stretch belief, even for that show. I think Season III was when the periphery characters started to get more interesting (and their acting got better).

Deadwood is still my all time favourite, of the US pay-cable shows.

I thought Shatner fell flat on his face, what a disappointment when all these other middle aged guys like Craig T. are peaking! I prolly enjoyed outsourced a little more than you, thought it had some clever little gags but I am not sure they can keep it going...

It's Nate from Six Feet Under....he plays the married brother with the kids (son with autism i believe) his name escapes me.....but love him.
Also love that Dax is in a serious role...he is good.  I remember him mostly from Punk'd.  That show used to crack me uP!

Finally watched the season premiere of The Office.  Is it true this is the last season?  What a great cast.  Micheal's hatred for Toby kills me, it's one of my favorite long running jokes of the show.

About to watch the SNL premiere to see what the new people are like.  I don't like football a lot but SNL reminds me a lot of the detroit lions.  here each year we know they are going to suck, no matter what they will end up sucking.  no matter who the coach, no matter who the players.  (barry sanders is so fucking nice tho).  but yeah each year we hope they'll be awesome, they never actually are but every once in awhile they kick some ass.

SNL is important to preserve for sure, I hope NBC doesn't fuck that show like they fucked Conan.

I like your SNL/Lions comparison, and it's pretty accurate. I find SNL generally painful to watch. Most of the skits are self-aware and alot of the humour comes off uncomfortably forced. I like many of the SNL actors when they do other things, but I think the show sucks ass, and has for 15 years. At least it's funnier than the Simpsons, which hasn't been relevant for over 10 years. Humour shouldn't have loyalty. If you don't laugh, then it's time to move on (and I have, but I tune in every so often just to make sure I've made the right decision).

This isn't the last year of the Office: It's Michael Scott's last year. Hopefully we'll see a Scott-Brent episode.

yeah I hear ya.  to me members don't seem to usually start shining until their 2nd or 3rd season.  Will Ferrell is a good example of a guy who adapted to that type of television quickly.  It's gotta be rough for a lot of the comedians not being able to use the word Fuck.  censorship is one of the things the show used to push a little more.  then again they just did a fake commercial for hair replacement using your pubes.  it was pretty funny.

I never found Ferrell overly funny on SNL. I admired his bravery (he'll do anything and is an old school physical comic) and a couple of his send-ups, but I didn't care for most of his characters. I prefer him in his films; some I like a lot (Old School, Elf). I think Fey writes excellent situational comedy, but I couldn't stand the SNL news with either Amy or Fallon co-hosting. Sometimes it was alright, but it pales when you comare it to the Daily Show or Colbert, as fake news satire goes.

The thing about SNL is, if it you look at the cast every 5 years or so, you almost set yourself up for thinking its gonna suck now because all the funny people left. You say it hasnt been good for 15 years, Id say its more like 7-8 years. The cast in the early 90's was money, so the next 5-10 yrs seemed bad, but it was actually pretty decent.

That said, the cast right now mostly sucks. Its gone downhill a lot, and really the only time I tune in is if its a musical guest I want to see, or host that I think would be good in sketches

I don't know. I didn't love the show in the '90s, but some years were better than others. Skits still carried on way too long back then. Also, the early '90s SNL had far too many one-joke characters: Angry Old Guy, The Copier Guy etc... I think the '90s cast was excellent with their political parodies and I did like Dennis Miller's newscast. My favourite SNL period as quality funny went was the one-off year featuring Martin Short, Harry Shearer, Christopher Guest and Billy Crystal. Eddie Murphy did a few guest hosting appearances during that year, which included his famous White Like Me and James Brown Hot Tub skits.

I've been a fan of SNL since the late '70s and I've suffered through the good and bad. I think Bill Murray was the funniest on the show followed by Belushi (not Jim, altough he was ok on SNL) and Murphy. Chevy was great too as was Gilda and Dan Aykroyd.

He is a pretty good actor as well! Facial expressions that show emotion, and believable in his role...

Haha the premiere of Eastbound and Down was everything I expected if not more. A mexican rendition of Seger's "Night Moves" sang by a sexy muchacha was icing on the cake. Yaaayyyuuuggghhh!!!

I'm just a country bumpkin from NH, so correct me if I'm wrong, but would a guy in head-to-toe S&M leather really draw that many looks in NYC?
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.
