Slow as fucking hell WIFI connection at the resort I'm staying at on vacation. I cannot watch the recent Lost episode or listen to SXSW because this thing is sooooooo slow. I am gonna have have to let Lost DL overnight....It's like I'm back on 14.4 in the early days of the internet. Oh well, I'm on vacation with a fridge full of food and booze.

Ever feel like your teacher is intentionally trying to sink your grade?

In my Biology II internet course, I'm absolutely kicking everyone's asses... Before last Wednesday, I had scored higher than the class average on every single assignment except one - the very first assignment - the "Introduce Yourself in the forum" assignment.

That's right, she handed me a fucking 6 out of 10 in the classroom introductory post - having nothing to do with Biology. Apparently, either I didn't talk about myself enough - or I didn't do a good enough job pretending to give a shit about my fellow classmates (who I will only meet face-to-face three times in the entire semester).

Last Wednesday, the teacher gave me yet another 6 out of 10 in a forum assignment. This time, the assignment was to pick a species of sponge and talk briefly about it. I did a good job describing the sponge, I provided links of reference, and I provided a link to the photo. Hell, I even replied to two of my fellow classmate's posts (it's required that we pretend to give a shit, actually - 2 replies is the minimum requirement).

I couldn't help myself, not when I've busted my ass for my 85.7% average (the class average is a low 70), so I e-mailed her and asked her what was wrong with my report. The answer?

"Your hyperlinks to the sponge picture (-2) and to your references (-1) did not work, and you did not address the person you were relying to by name (-1)."

...so... my reference links work, they are real-life, active website - they just weren't shortcut hyperlinks. That's 30% of my grade. And, even though it is a threaded-breadcrumb style forum, where your replies to people lie directly underneath their name, I didn't state their names. 10% of my grade.

30% of my grade in Biology is actually Computer Applications...
10% of my grade in Biology is actually half-hearted pleasantries...

If only 60% of Biology II is actually related to Biology, I'm totally screwed, because that's what I've been wasting my life studying, this semester.

My vacation just fucking sucks. We are currently staying in Williamsburg, VA. We came with my wife's parents since it is their timeshare. Nobody wants to fucking do a damn thing. We go to the sites and are hardly there then come back to the hotel. Since it's timeshare there is a kitchen so they want to eat in every meal. Seriously, what the fuck is this shit!??!?!?! Who the fuck goes on a vacation just to sit in the fucking hotel and cook for yourself. Fuck this trip sucks major fucking donkey balls. Thank goodness I have access to plenty of booze. No more traveling with her mom and dad (they are the ones driving not doing a damn thing).

My dog has been 'expelling' somewhat prolifically, yet intermittenly, from, er, both ends for the last 24hours (but only when I'm gone). Tonight on the walk he had the tiniest bit of blood in his, uhm, juice that came from his ass.  Christ, I give him one stinking beef bone... or, maybe his system hates those new denta bone chewy things?  I don't Know???  Other than the leaks, he SEEMS okay.  I'm staying home tonight to monitor him instead of going to a $$$ dinner for a yokel local politician soiree because I'm too effin worried about him!!  Really, I'm a good Mom!!!  I hope it's just a bug...

By the by, last night when I took him for a walk he raced out of the house and into the first shrub where he actually sounded the horns in a blaze of glory!  I thought it was hysterical and kept making farting noises at him throughout the evening.  He clearly wasn't amused and kept barking at me each time I did so.  He's so great!

PS - MJ, I'm sorry your vacation sucks.  Everybody knows vacations are all about throwing a backpack on with a bottle of water and a Clif Bar and seeing what kind of trouble you can find. (Usually, if the GOds are smiling, there's a pub involved)  Hopefully, it'll take a turn. Here's hopin'!!

i had to go to the hospital last night. lame. i am supposed to not do anything but lay in bed all day, and it is driving me crazy.

my complaint is that i can never really rest. is anyone else like that? right now i am fighting the urge to clean this house, even though i know doing so would only make things worse. i can't sit still. i always have to be doing something. i can't stand having to take a day off work.
