You think THAT'S bad.

Boone isn't bringing Borat to the movie theaters!!!! >:(\\

I'm gonna have to drive to Charlotte or Asheville to see it now.

Dude, I know some guys from Boone. They're freshman here at Belmont. Do you know anybody like that?
The river is moving. The blackbird must be flying.

FarmerYoda

Waking up so late that, by the time you're good and ready to head out of the house, plans among friends have already been established.

Yeah, I know a guy from Nashville.  Not really friends with him, but he's from Nashville.

Our program director is such a/an (expletive)! God. He's supposed to have twenty-five years of "radio" experience, and he can't even work the remote broadcast system. It's a MARTI, too. I mean, Jesus H! I get so tired of having to go behind this (expletive) and fix the work he should have done correctly in the first place. Ugh.

:-[ my OCD has gotten worse. I count minutes, now and I can't go three minutes without looking at the clock. I count how many times I swallow. How many words i use. I try to make it equal. I count in TWOS. when i go to bed, I wait for the clock to turn, count fifty nine seconds with my eyes closed, then open. REPEAT. I'm a nutjob. I knock my left hand? I have to knock my right hand. I like symmytry.

I've been trying to get over it. I'm not on any medications or anything. But I've been intentionally making things unequal and trying to deal wtih them. I've been trying to make things not worse. But goddamn, it's a pain in the fucking ass. >:(

UGH.

dear face,
I had a thought about your OCD problem. Maybe you could try to use your ocd for an art project since you like to draw, etc. Obsessiveness can come in really handy for making work (coming from someone who struggles on the other end of the spectrum in terms of focus). You could assign yourself a particularly obsessive project like cutting a particular word out of an old book (as many of that word that you can find) and then do a drawing with the many cut-out words as marks rather than pencil, pen, etc. Just thinking that maybe if that energy is directed in a certain way it could be really powerful. If you don't know the work of conceptual artist, Tom Friedman, who has made amazing work that's often super obsessive, check him out. I don't know how to post a link, but there's lots of stuff online about him.
good luck,
colleen
Everyone has a photographic memory. Some don't have film.

i also had the even / symmetry ocd thing.  i used to do stuff like if I snapped my finngers on my left hand, then i'd have to snap my right hand twice and my left hand again once.  I also used to count cracks and lines on the sidewalk that I stepped over and on with my right and left feet and try to keep it even.  I eventually have gotten a lot better with it and have worked through of the part of my OCD that was really driving me crazy.  I'm still ocd about organization and collecting stuff but that productive so I go with it. fight it, girl.  the mind is a powerful thing but your will is stronger!

I used to post three exact responses in a row, but I have gotten better.

aMD, do you feel like you've "gotta catch 'em all" when it comes to MMJ material?
--- and that's 2 real 4 u.

yeah, definitely.  I NEED all of their studio/released stuff.  i'm not too bad about collecting all the concerts unless it has something "special" about it like a cover or a rarely played song.  It's still killing me that i don't have the how can i know from okonokos, i may just have to break down and drop 17 dollars on that one track.

i'm the exact same way about bob dylan, btw.  but that one's a little more difficult since he has 45 studio releases and many many famous bootlegs. I think my bob dylan file is about 32 gigs containing around 250 albums/bootlegs.

toady, i counted how many cars i heard when i shut my eyes and sat down at the corner of Rt. 9 and my street.

I'm right there with you, bro... but I'm not paying $20 for one song, unless Jim says that he's dedicating the song to his homes AngryEwok.

I already did the city gig (in Dallas) and I prefer the country by a long shot--can always drive to visit Beantown but I know my country home is waiting when I'm done.
