meg, you ever think about telling this guy that you are offended by his statements?

I would, but he's not actually AT the station. He's currently coming in from a satellite feed. But if I ever see him in person, he's going to get more than an earful, I assure you.

No man thats the Lions effect.  When they play a team the other team plays to their level.  Lions lose by a touchdown to shitty teams and lose by a touchdown to good teams like the Pats.  They have an aura of  "stink" that almost always keeps them in games only to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

story of my life. :(

Warning! Actung! Cuidado! Girly rant to follow!

I went on a date with a guy I incorrectly assumed to be awesome. We have a lit class together, and he always has the most insightful comments, so of course my loser ass has to swoon over him. Anyway, we go on this date and he turns out to be a complete and total waste of my time. He was rude to the waitress, and all he did was talk about himself. When I started to ask him about all the major literary works he supposedly knows so much about, his response was, "Eh. I don't really give a shit. I just use a bunch of quotes from Sparknotes so people think I'm smart." As if that weren't enough, he made some comment about how he didn't like seeing so many girls go to college, because that meant he'd have more "skirts" to deal with in the workforce. What a dick. And he said My Morning Jacket was "too pretentious" for him.

Worst.

Date.

Ever.

And the saddest thing is, he's the first guy in this godforsaken, sorry-excuse-for-a-city to ask me on a date in, like, three months. I guess my not being a "Laguna Beach" look-a-like somehow renders me invisible to men? What the hell is wrong with me? I'm not a total bitch, and I'm pretty damn hot.  ??? I mean, damn.

Damn!

In addition, one of my friends is ignoring me for no reason, and it is pissing me off. Girls are so wierd. Seriously.

bug

awww, that sucks meg!  At least you figured it out on the first date and didn't waste a whole lot of time thinking he was Mr. Wonderful only to find out three months later he's only as smart as his Sparknotes.   (I used to love that website though)

That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

unfortunately, guys (and girls) are like cars.  fortunately for you, you were able to test drive this clunker and take it right back to the lot without buying...

here's some advice from an old turd-stop looking altogether.  sounds like crappy advice, but if the car lot is short in supply where you are, someone will drive by soon enough that will fancy your interest that isn't part of the usual lot.

meaning, you're obviously young (and hot) so wait for mr. right to come along.  don't settle for the '82 Nova with 100k miles and a shot transmission (which this guy sounds like).  sooner or later, an '06 Mustang will happen by, if only by accident...I swear this works.

You know I kind of agree with you on that John but then I kind of don't.  Sometimes, I think, people have to make things happen.  You can' just sit home and expect a new car to pull up in front of the house.  ;)

I used to think that if I stopped looking something would happen but in the past 10 years, I've been on 4 dates.  I'm not hot stuff or anything, but I'm not exactly a dog either.  So, um, yeah ... I don't really have any advice on dating.  I'm a bit out of the loop.

oh, I'm not advocating waiting forever, but advising not to jump the first train that comes along...selectivity is my gospel I'm preachin'.

and i've seen pics of both you and you are selling yourself short, my friend.  8)
