I've been having a lot of lower back pain lately. It feels alright during the day, and stiffens up over night. Can't sleep for more than 5 or 6 hours without having to take a painkiller. I guess I'll be calling my doctor soon.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

over the past few days i've been feeling signs of a kidney stone or 2 in the near future..

it's a hereditary thing and my mother has had 500+ kidney stones over the last 12 years..

hopefully it will just be a quick pass and it wont affect me as far as having to stay in the house doped up on painkillers and the lack of sleep

oh man.....hope it passes quickly :)

Therrrrrreeeee...... are several herbs that help to dissolve such stones, and "re-distribute" the minerals that the stones are usually made of, back into the body.... there are also several herbs that help create a painless passing of small stones.  Coincidentally enough, two of the main plants used for stones (Goldenrod & Joe Pye Weed) have just begun to bloom within the past week or two... There are also pretty simple home remedy type things you can do to try to remedy the issue.  Give a shout if you're at all interested in trying anything  :)

I'm not sure how a live blues band (comparable to Blueshammer from the film, Ghost World) was allowed to play a gig from 7pm to after 11pm at a sparsely-attended backyard house party on Broadview Ave near Toronto's Greektown (I live in a huge urban neighbourhood). Nobody in the 'hood needed to hear deafeningly loud, cheesy bar band renditions of "All Along the Watchtower" (with wah wah solos) or a bloozed-up version of John Lee Hooker's "Dimples". And if you know who Canadian bluesman David Wilcox is, I also hated their take on his hit, "That Hypnotizin' Boogie" (I also hate the original). Oh, and I had to get up at 5:30 today for work. I love the blues, but not fucking Blueshammer rockin' blues, especially on a "school night".

I had a cancer scare back in November. Tomorrow, I am having a test done to see if any of the cancerous cells have returned. I am so freaked out about this. I know our greatest fears lay in anticipation, but... ugggh. Then I have to wait for the results from the lab. This blows.

I will have your name put in the Prayer box for Saint Peregrine The patron saint for Cancer. I'm not a very religious person  so I will have my wife do it for me, she makes up for the bad that I have done in my life ( I'm trying to marry my way into heaven  :) ). It can't hurt right ?

Fingers crossed for you Meg.

Many, many good vibes headed southward, meg.

Hang in there, Meg.  Thinkin' bout ya.

Stay strong Meg. If you feel the need to talk, just send me a PM. I'm unfortunately hip to cancer (dad, mom, family friends etc...) but work crazy hours, so I'll more than likely be around on the forum.

Thanks, friends. Biopsy went well, now I have to wait for the results. The waiting really is the hardest part.

Might I just add my current complaint:  friends who forget your birthday though you remember theirs every year, friends who blow you off when it's your last Friday night in town, friends who won't listen to any MMJ but will spew on for eons and eons about Phish (and hey I like Phish goddamnit, but can we at least give one Jacket song a chance here??  Or ease up on the endless discussions about Phish?!?)  It's made me rather stand-offish about Phish.  For the last couple months I've been trying to listen to them more and more, in hopes that these friends would take the cue and be like "Oh hey, we listened to a Jacket song today!" or something--  But to no avail.

I love my friends, really, I do..... I guess I was just bombarded at once with all of these ridiculous situations  :(

Funny enough, the thing that triggered this little outburst is the Phish-to-Jacket ratio...  I at least like the band and know a couple handfuls of their songs and appreciate them, but do you think the people nearest and dearest to me who are currently worshipping Phish would give MMJ the time of day??  I know there's a whole thread on this piece (friends/family not listening to MMJ) but I just had to swing by here and shake it off a bit.  I don't land in here all that often, I try to let things roll, but it must've touched a noive when my mind made a little tally of everything  ::) The same people cross-pollinate the former 'complaints,' and they've forgotten my birthday and/or blown me off tonight, so meh.

Sorry for the major vent....... now perhaps I can let it roll a bit freer!!  8)

And a big thanks to all you fine folks who essentially keep me somewhat "sane" on here

I have a friend who likes Fleet Foxes and doesn't seem to like MMJ that much, and even said she thinks Fleet Foxes are better. I tried to explain that bands like Fleet Foxes wouldn't even be around without MMJ to pave the way. If people would just go see them live then I think they would get it. At least I have gotten several people into MMJ but some remain stubborn.

Happy belated Woody!  I'm sorry to hear about your predicament.  Like many of us here, I was surrounded by Dead and Phish heads all through my undergrad experience though that was well over a decade ago.  I'd see some dreadies trading tapes in my living room and I'd just bump some Dilated Peoples and yell, "Yeah, iss like that!" ;D  I like both bands, particularly the Dead, but I never understood the cult like following and being all consumed with a single entity.  What are you really getting out of life if all your free time is spent memorizing setlists and comparing shows and talking about a single jam that happened on a single date from ONE BAND!  There's too much out there to soak up.  Ya got it right.  Have a great weekend and don't sweat your cultish friends.  They'll come around.  ;D;)
