Philly can destroy deez nuts  :P

Philly aint winning this series, and it might not even make it to 6 games like I thought if our PK plays as good as it looked tonight.

And once again, Its Always Classy in Philadelphia. Bunch of bums who when they lose a game just start slashing and punching people on faceoffs. I hope Godard knocks a few more teeth out of Carcillo's grill.

Nice to see you already submitting you most likely arent going to win this series too Leon  ;D

Ryan Callahan had a great game again....Hank kept them in it during the first! Great Win, a few less penalties in game 2 would be nice!

Quotewoot woot rangers!!!

funny how capn cash didnt even play. our true capn, mr dubinsky, answered the call and scored a huge one.

watching the blues now, i love their jerseys and i love tj oshie so hopefully the slipper fits on cinderella and these guys can pull it out.

Out of all the playoff predictions I kept hearing, I thought Washington going to the Cup finals or even Eastern Conference finals was the one that just wasnt going to happen. People are just all over Ovie's dick it isnt even funny. Out of any team with a chance to win to make it to the finals in the East (Id say the Top 6 seeds, sorry Rags fans  ;)), Washington is the only team with a deficiency in more than 1 of the 3 facets of the game. Their goaltending is arguably the worst of any of their teams, as is their defense which most of the media seems to overlook since Mike Green is so good offensively. Last time I checked, that doesnt help out their defense  ;D

I still would expect Washington to win this series, but I wouldnt rule out the Rangers beating them obviously since they already have the advantage. I doubt they make it to the ECF though, and would shit my pants if they made it to the SCF. It wont happen.

I agree with pretty much everything you said capt headdy. Theodore (or as one announcer called him, 'Three-or-more') looked terrible last night, he never came out of the crease to challenge a shooter and just looked weak the whole time. Ovie was flying last night, taking 13 shots but not scoring a goal. NHL.com must have been really impressed though because they gave him the #1 star of the game haha. I dont expect the Rangers to win the series, but I definately think it's possible. The boys just need to keep shooting, no matter what.

I had the Pitt/Philly game muted on my tv2 which sits right next to my tv1 so I saw some of the game. Whenever I glanced over all I saw was black jerseys swirling around Biron. Kinda surprised me that it wasnt a closer game. All that tough stuff at the end should make for an exciting game 2 though.

-o btw, just read that Philly's Carcillo is meeting with the NHL to discuss his actions towards the end of the game.

Yeah, if Carcillo pulls shit like that again, he should get a 1 game suspension.

Id almost rather have him and his 4 PIM/game playing though  ;D

Whoa..a lot of those are pretty good  :o

Vermette and Ashton Kutcher is def the winner though. Biron and James Marsden is probably next closest, and if Drew Carey wasnt a fat ass, him and Tim Thomas might actually be the next closest.

Malkin and Sylvester Stallone. Love it.  ;D

Columbus has almost no chance of beating Detroit. Their D isnt good enough to expect Mason to come out of most games with less than 2 goals given up against a team as offensively talented and deep as DET.

Plus DET has the best PP and the Jackets have the worst in the NHL.

That spells Columbus = Losers

yeah its a shame, i thought after a scoreless first they might steal one like the rangers did last night but no. not even close. rip blue jackets,

Yeah, I would really like to see a San Jose/Detroit final though. I think that could be a great one.

I think this Calgary/Chicago series is going to end up being the best of the 1st round matchups and will definitely go at least 6 games.

Man, that CHI/CAL game was great. I was hoping for a longer OT than 12 seconds though. Cant say I saw that 1 coming.

Im digging how they have these games staggered too. Get to see at least 2 periods of 3/4 of the games tonight.

1-0 Ducks, although Getzlaf just took a penalty.

I want to see the Sharks win just so Thornton doesnt keep getting dogged, but mostly because like I said before, them vs. DET in the WCF would be great hockey.

I dont think Anaheim has the staying power to go far, shit, itll take a lot to win this series, but how the hell were they the 8th seed?! Theyre at least the 5th/6th best team in the West

Hah, and Getzlaf scores as soon as he gets out of the net.

Sick shot.

ESPN has a story on the Rangers signing Hobey Baker Trophy winner, defenseman Matt Gilroy.  Terms of his deal were not disclosed.

I don't know that much about college hockey or the NHL rules for signing a undrafted player. How were they able to get this guy? Did another team draft him last year and he didn't sign with them? Don't college players have to go in the draft before they sign with a team?
