I dont want Caps fans to have an excuse if the Pens win this series and Ovechkin got suspended for a game, but he should. He wont be suspended, but he should be.

Ovechkin should probably lead the league in charging penalties, but never gets called for it, then pulls shit like this and plays dumbfounded.

#2) that was the god damn Thrashers

#3) that was a Thrashers goon/fighter. not an all star.

#4) theres a huge difference between blindside/back-endside punch someone which will cause temporary pain, as opposed to a knee-to-knee hit that can cause a season ending injury.

I was wondering what you guys thought about the scheduling for the Caps/Pens as to the B2B games in 2 cities.  While I understand the reason, I can't say I'm in favor of it even though it likely favors the Caps in this situation.

Would they have pushed it back a couple of hours if they played a 3OT game last night?

Not sure if you do know the actual reason or not, but its because our arena has a bunch of other events that are scheduled there for the upcoming week (which team arenas arent supposed to do), so they had to adjust the schedule to make it work around those events. Otherwise, they wouldnt play B2B.

Definitely favors the Caps. Mostly so Var-lamov has less time to think about his stinker of a game, but also because IMO theres no way Gonch will be able to go tonight (though I doubt he would have tomorrow Im thinking anyway if the game was then).

I believe Hockey Night in Canada had a hand in the back-to-back scheduling. It's a tradition in Canada to have hockey on at 7pm on Saturday night, and the CBC and NHL thinks that the Pens-Caps series is the marquee match-up (not including the Canucks in Canada). Double-headers on Saturday have also become a tradition on the CBC, so tonight looks like a big ratings night with the Canucks-Hawks game starting at 10:30.

Fleury played like shit, 79% save percentage, and we still took it to OT.

Not getting more than 1 goal in the first period, and those 2 quick goals the Craps got in the 3rd killed us.

This Hawks-Canucks game was nuts. That last goal by Kane was as filthy as Pam Anderson.

Maybe they could give either the Ducks or Wings a series, but I dont know. They'd have to play almost flawless to do it.
