QuoteIt should be a good series. I think the Phils are going to repeat no matter what though.

why is this? last time i checked, NYY are pret-tay, pret-tay, pretty good.

I hope Philly wins, and I think they have the advantage with games 3, 4, and 5 at home (which having 3 games at home in a row IMO makes as much sense as the 1st playoff series only being 5 games), but I find it hard to believe anyone could say theyre going to win "no matter what"

Whoever wins the Lee vs Sabathia duel in Game 1 should have a large impact

No matter what as in no matter if they are playing the Angels or the Yankees.  Let's not forget the yanks haven't even won the ALCS yet.  The Phillies are defending champions, they have the best 1-4 hitters in the bigs and Cliff Lee is untouchable right now.  That's why.

No matter what, eh?

;D

Umm...the Phils lost. You said they would repeat no matter who they played. They played the Yankees, and the Yankees won.

I dont really care you were off on your pick, people make bad calls. Considering how much you rip anything I say when Im wrong though, I just found it funny that for once you make a prediction, and its such a strong statement as the Phillies will win no matter what, and they got owned in the WS outside of Game 1.

Glad to see Greinke won the CY..a little surprised by how much of a landslide he won by, but not too much.

Still pissed McCutchen didnt get NL ROY yesterday. After looking at Coghlan's numbers, Im assuming he got more votes since he batted 35 points higher than Cutch. But in 20 less games, McCutchen had only 10 less runs, 3 more triples, 3 more HR's, 1 more walk, 14 more SB's, and 11 point higher slugging. Really, Coghlan only had a better AVG and OBP (which I realize is important). Id bet McCutchen is a better fielder to boot.

Considering Happ got so many more votes than Hanson and I think Hanson had better numbers besides 1 less win, I guess it all makes sense though  ::)

So is a Cardinal going to win the NL Cy Young are will Carp and Waino split the votes to much?

Id say Carpenter will win it but that could happen and I guess maybe Lincecum. Although Carpenter is a virtual lock for comeback POY, so maybe he doesnt get the CY for that reason.

Voters might not like that Lince got busted for that eigth of ganj the other week though so that coud hurt him  ;D

Performance Enhancing Drug?   What's the opposite of enhancing?  Performance Degrading Drug? ;D  That should be MORE reason to vote for him.

Totally...its just like tennis players with sour grapes over the Agassi thing...dude was on meth for a year, and still came back and won some slams.

That makes it only more impressive and deserving praise as opposed to him "giving up" wins, trophies, etc.

It was hilarious listening to all the stoners call into the Bay Area sports talk radio shows the day after Lincecum's pot story came out in the press. Dudes speculating how good his herb was, and wishing they could find Lincecum's SF dealer.

It does suck for his fans that are kids that he got busted...like it or not, he is a role model to a lot of youngsters. But, he is THE MAN to stoners everywhere now...he confirmed what they always suspected, and is in the running for another Cy Young award. He and Michael Phelps made stoners proud.  ;D

The Phillies just got Roy Halladay in a 3-way deal with the Jays and Mariners. Cliff Lee will be moved to either Toronto or Seattle. Roy will eat up the NL; he's still in his prime and got jobbed in this year's Cy Young - he placed a pathetic 5th in voting (look up his ERA, innings pitched, strike outs, complete games and most of all, who Roy pitched against). This is a bad day for the Blue Jays and me: Halladay is my favourite player of all-time; I even like him better than one of the least known dominant pitchers of the '80s and early '90s, Dave  Stieb.

Woah, big city life, huh?  Is he still trying to make it in hockey, too?

I'm relieved that story wasn't about Mauer, I hope you all hold onto him!
