thanks, i'll let the photographer know. i wanted it to show up behind me. such a beautiful city, i really did cry when i left and had to come back to the dry windswept desert. not that i don't love my home, it's just so nice to be in a wet cool place for a change.

I get you. there's just something so special about getting the bottoms of your jeans wet and soggy at the end of the day and being in a cold, wet city. definitely something nm can't quite afford to offer.

Yeah, when I went up there the climate did suck. But I'm an Alabamian, so I have a lower tolerance for cold, wet weather. The air feels good, though, in Washington.

Great pics Bumbeli, Sassbox, Tom & Wiz! I love this thread, it reminds me of the fact that there are some amazing, genuine people here  :)
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

say more about how amazing and genuine I am ...   ::)

All people need to do is go back to page 2 to see just how amazing you are Tracy...those rabbit ears won this competition hands down a long time ago. That & your back yard with a creek in it - they only give yards like that out to people who are the real deal.

And then of course there's Sparky. Bad people aren't allowed to keep dogs like that.

Great pic Wiz!   Shouldn't it be sunnier?  Is sunnier a word?
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

This was taken on the rainier side of the island.....most of our trip was sunny and in the low 80's.  We drove up from Hilo to the volcano observatory and it rained.  Some people live in constant rain up in the hills.  Luckily for us, this is what it was like all the other days:

Hi Bbill!  I did try my hand at surfing, but not at this location (this was taken near the pipeline on the North Shore of Oahu and the waves were HUGE).  We surfed in Waikiki, which was amazing.  Set after set of easy, breezy waves.  I thought I was a natural, until we went surfing another day on the Big Island.  Got my ass whooped hard.  But I haven't given up.  I am going to take some lessons this summer on the Oregon coast and see if I can get it down (catching waves is the hardest part).
How is family life going for you Bbill?

Pleased you had a good time Wiz! My wife & I usually stay in Kailua on Oahu, have you been there? No hotels, only a few condominiums so it's nice a quiet. Lovely little town, amazing beach!
I've been to Oahu 5 times & Maui once (for our honeymoon)

I miss Hawaii!

Surfing is HARD!!! My parents lived in Ventura County (on the coast, north of LA) for a few years after I left the house, and I surfed when I'd go down to visit. First of all, you have to have STRONG shoulders to keep out there for any length of time if the swell direction is pushing you away from the break...that was my biggest challenge, just staying in position! I could get up and ride alright...on SMALL waves, with NO GRACE!!!  ;D Awesome workout though...

Family life is wonderful. We just moved into a new place, so things are CRAZY!!! Baby is awesome though, 12 weeks today! He's getting really smiley, really fun.  :)

We only were in Waikiki and the Big Island.  I cannot wait to go back, and after spending a day up on the North Shore, that is where I want to go!  I am pretty sure we drove through Kailua.....so nice on that part of the island.  This was my first time there, but surely not my last!  One more pic for good measure:

Out on the lava flow of Kilauea.....(those are tornadoes forming to the right of the plume).
