And it's walking distance to my friend's house. Oh dear oh dear.

Please don't tempt me. I really don't need anymore reasons to see my friend and her hubby other then I miss them. And her husband would totally be up for serious beer drinking.

We have a wonderful craft beer bar here that featured Swedish beers today...I arrived too late to sample as many as I would have preferred, but hands down the best I had today was the Stormaksporter (on draft)...apparently we got the only keg in the States...beautiful beer...9% ABV but very smooth... ]http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/10902/42664]

Nova, I had a Firestone Walker Double Jack (DIPA) the other night...amazing stuff.  I'm not a huge fan of the IPAs but the DIPAs can be so complex and well balanced...this one really was.  I recommend!

Oooooh, thanks for the recommendation!  I think there's a beer swap happening here this Saturday at a (decent) deli which has a really good beer selection.  Maybe they or someone else will bring it to swap!  :)

I'm usually not a big fan of Sam Adams but I saw their new seasonal, Alpine Spring and I'm tempted to try it.  Anyone try it yet?

I've heard....not good things.  But I would never, ever try to talk someone out of drinking beer!  Check it out and let us know what you think!

Well, I got a sixer of it last night and unfortunately it wasn't as good as it looked.  I will add to the "not good things" about it.  Wasn't impressed at all.  Then again, wasn't surprised that I wasn't impressed.  Cranberry Lambic or Cherry Wheat are about the only Sam Adams I can enjoy...

What style of beer is it?  Sounds like a good name for a shitty watered down pilsner

Looked it up.

QuoteKeller Bier / Zwickel Bier

Description:
A rather old, rare, and unique German beer style, Kellerbiers are unfiltered and unpasteurized lagers that date back to at least the Middle Ages. The beer is matured, unbunged (beer is exposed), in deep vaults. The final product is a smooth, naturally cloudy beer that's rich in vitamins (from the yeast). Hop bitterness can be high and alcohol will vary. Zwickel Bier is similar to a Keller, but not as pronounced.

Don't know that I've had this style.  I'm gonna have to give it a try.

I don't know if we get New Glarus here in Ohio.  I'll have to ask my local beer guy to see if his distributor can get it.  Sounds yummy though!

I found a 4 pack of this in my fridge. I must have been drunk when I bought it, because I don't remember when or where I got it. I don't even like IPAs. This one isn't too bad, though.

The wind blew me back, via Chicago, in the middle of the night.
