Got my first Bell's Oberon of the season this weekend!

Today's agenda:  Already walked 4 miles with the dogs and kids.  Next, mow the yard, then, wife mows my winter hair growth (hasn't been cut since late September) and then enjoy some sweet nectar on the deck with a nice fire to end the day!      8)

Yep, my local store just got it. Can't freakin wait to dive in. It's the epitome of summer beer. And my local hookup gets in the mini kegs of it for me. Perfect for parties

So last night I enjoyed Plan B from Perennial Artisan Ales which is a local StL brewer. Dark Belgian with black currents. I cannot recommend it enough.

And I also essentially chugged the new Bourbon County Stout. The Bramble Rye just may be the best BCS they've made. The Black and Raspberries mellow the very strong whisky/bourbon flavor and make it even more pallatable. If you can get some, get some as it's worth it.

Nope, just Oberon. It's the perfect summer beer. Crisp, Clean, with actual flavor.....dammit, I need a 6er now.

Have you ever had Oberon? It tastes nothing like Sam Adams and is actually reasonably priced. Which is surprising considering Bell's makes it.

yeah, I've had it.  it's one of those beers that's everywhere.  even the mini keg thing.  had years and years ago and didn't like it.  but times have changed.

Aint that the fucking truth. I'm glad I picked up a couple bottles and have 1 in the cellar. That is a damn fine beverage.

ALady

I haven't seen it in bottles up here but mainly because I haven't been looking - hadn't realized they bottled it yet!  One of the most outstanding brews I've had in the past year for sure.

Had a number of beers Saturday, most memorable was a Green Flash Trippel (I think?) that had some delicious toffee notes.  Had a really good DIPA at Piece, too.

Yep, they bottled it about 5 weeks or so ago. I think they were getting ready to bottle King Henry again.....And they were releasing their Nut Brown Ale. I heart Goose Island.

Nice man....but seriously, 20 on a sixer?  Shit must be expensive up in the mitten.  I try to keep my sixers maxed at 10 bucks but I'll always splurge for bottled seasonals.  Happy drinking.

In other happy news that was announced about a month ago, my favorite restaurant here is partnering with one of my favorite local breweries for what I can only imagine to be a super creative gastropub.  Can't wait for its opening!

it is the most expensive beer I've ever bought.  only twice.  once as a n00b, once as a man.  the party store dudes just jacked the price of everything good up a dollar.  it depends what you want I guess.  of what and where are you getting 6'ers for 10bucks?  michigan has a 10cent deposit which is way more jewish than other states.  been drinking bells and founders and they've been like 11.99 a 6'er average.  sometimes 10.99, rarely.  hopslam is 20, expedition is 19, and third coast old ale is 18, other than that everything is priced around that 10.99.11.99 spot.  maybe I should say something like "hey why the fuck are you ripping me the fuck off bitch?".  ::wasted::  that joke really fell apart at the end. whateverit was suppose to be, so fuck off. ps. never drunk edit your drunk posts.

No need for the racial slurs bro.  I'm not even Jewish...and I find it offensive.

Yeah Hopslam is usually $17.99-19.99 here too  :-\

Tried some Weyerbacher Insanity last night  :o  Probably the biggest buzz I've ever had off a single beer, possibly tied with Goose Island Bourbon County Stout.

Also picked up these:

We could.

I had the Ta henket on draft about a month ago, very unusual taste to it, couldn't quite decide if I liked it or not, such an odd beer.

I want all of these like now. I'm hoping for a successful scavenger hunt on my visit to Binneys in 2 weeks.
