Sahara (1943) - Zoltan Korda (The Four Feathers, The Thief of Bagdad, The Jungle Book) directed this slice of WWII African desert war. Humphrey Bogart is fantastic (in his favourite role) as an American tank sergeant with great supporting work from Dan Duryea and J. Carrol Naish. Highly recommended (for folks that like classics).

I like Adam Sandler. Happy Gilmore is a classic & the uncut Billy Madison is great too. I like The Wedding Singer & 50 First Dates, Reign Over Me was good & Punch Drunk Love is excellent.
Granted, he's made a lot of crap & Zohan probably falls into that category for most people but it made me laugh. I'm looking forward to his next movie with Judd Apatow...

Oh, I love Sandler too. HG and BM are classic, and I think WS, Big Daddy, and Airheads arent far behind. I also liked Bulletproof, Anger Management, and I Pronounce You Chuck & Larry enough to see them more than once each. I like Waterboy, although I think its his most overrated comedy. I even thought Mr Deeds and Little Nicky were okay.

That said, I think for a decade now(since Big Daddy), his drama movies - Punch Drunk Love, Spanglish, Reign Over Me - have been very solid and better than his comedies. For someone who had so many good comedies in the 90's, thats just not right. I dont know if its a lack of effort or what, but he's lost the touch for the most part with comedies as far as I can tell.

Click was pretty bad I thought (and got worse as it went on), and Zohan just looks so bad I cant see myself watching it anytime soon, and I like retarded comedies - see Dumb & Dumber, Say It Aint So, Mars Attacks, Bio Dome, etc. Maybe I should check it out if you say its funny actually  ;D
Yeah Click was painful! From what you've written i think you might like it. It's silly & some of the jokes don't work but I was expecting a failure of Click proportions, so maybe that was why I enjoyed it. If you do watch it then just make sure you leave your brain in another room  ;)

I noticed you said you thought Punch Drunk Love was great - have you seen Spanglish?? I think Ive only seen each of them once, but I remember enjoying Spanglish more.

Rented Spanglish but never got round to watching it for some reason...worth renting again then? Better then Punch Drunk Love?!!  :o

Like I said, I only saw each of them once (and most of PTA's movies I think are great), but I remember enjoying Spanglish more.

Better movie? I dont know, but I liked Spanglish more from what I remember. Been 2-3+ years since Ive seen either.

I could truck through the first 2, but after the opening novelty of 3, I think Id be passed out before the Mad Russian came around in 4.

5 is a snoozefest too, although I did enjoy the new one.

I guess I could probably pull off watching the first few drunk, hazing thorugh the hilarious 4, waking up hungover to 5 since I wouldnt pay attention anyway, and then re-energizing with 6

Kinda sounds like fun  8-)

...Report back how this goes if you actually try watching all of them in a row  ;D

Watched the Rolling Stones, Cocksucker Blues last night.  Definitely doesn't lack in the sex...drugs...and rock n roll!

As far as I know it's still unreleased.  The copy I have is a pretty fancy dvd with a cover/back and everything.  Found it online somewhere and had it shipped.  :-X

Can somebody tell me if I should go see Taken this weekend? I'm not expecting it to be good, but will it entertain me at least? I'm BORED.

I don't know about the movie (mixed reviews across the board), but Spielberg's Taken mini-series is excellent. It's creepy and engaging with a fantastic cast.

I'm currently reading the biography of Lenny 'The Gov'ner' McLean so wanted to watch Lock, Stock again before seeing RockNRolla (Lenny plays Barry The Baptist is Lock) but I couldn't find my copy  >:(  so I went with Snatch instead...
