QuoteSeverance - very entertaining horror/(black)comedy/action/thriller.

ha, so did I.

loved those hungarian escort girls, they were badass.
They were indeed (see you in Budapest!)
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

Not a movie I just saw but a cool interview with Guillermo Del Torro from the Onion:

But seein you feels good, and its always understood.
That anything much sweeter would make me die.

The Dockers - very good TV movie about the Liverpool Dockers strike of '95 written by Jimmy McGovern (Cracker) & Irvin Welsh (Trainspotting etc)

Have heard of Shooting Dogs but not Sophie Scholl. Thanks EMR, I'll check them out.

The Illusionist - disappointing. Let's hope that The Prestige brings it next month.

Yeah, I thought it was horrible, especially since I had such high expectations for it.

:(

Hawkeye

Pan's Labyrinth and Children of Men back-to-back...both pretty violent movies but they were both excellent.  I think I like Pan's Labyrinth better tho
We could.

Bambi.
For 32 years I was under the impression that The Jungle Book was the first movie I saw in the movie theater until the conversation came up last year & my Dad informed me that Bambi was my first & that Jungle Book was my second.
Bambi?!! That's a little girls movie!!!  ;)

It's amazing to think that this was first released in '42. Some of the animation really is beautiful.

Little Miss Sunshine is up for Best Picture?!! Fuck that...
Crash was bad enough last year.
If LMS wins then I swear I'll never pay any attention to the Academy Awards ever, ever again.

Anyone see Half Nelson or Little Children? (the book is very good)

I want to see Pan's Labyrinth but no one is showing it around here. It looks mysterious I am intrigued.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

Bambi was my first movie too!  My aunt took me to see it.  When in the 70's was it re-released?  I can't remember how old I was, but I was really little (I think)

I would love to see Pan's Labrynth and Babel, maybe Children of Men.  I need to take a day off work and go to some Matinee's
Detroit Cobras @ The Mad Hatter, Covington KY - 7/11/07

IMDB says '75, which means I wasn't even 2? Not sure if that's right...

Bambi has been re-released many times over the decades. I believe I watched it for the first time in-and-around 1975 in my hometown of Kingston, maybe even earlier than that. Same with Old Yeller.

Why do you hate Little Miss Sunshine so much? Please don't say it's because of Greg Kinnear. It's a well done black comedy that hits a lot of right notes with a lot of people. I loved it.

POTENTIAL SPOILERS!!!

It just didn't work for me & I found the final dance scene at the competition both flawed & silly.
I don't hate it but I don't think it deserved all of the excellent reviews that it got.
I need to watch it again & I'm sure I'll enjoy it more 2nd time round but worthy of a best picture nomination? That's ridiculous.
